1. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu held delegation-level talks with her Romanian counterpart Nicusor Dan. Several MoUs were signed after the talks. India and Romania exchanged agreements to strengthen cooperation in science and technology and sports, further deepening the bilateral partnership.
2. India has categorically rejected comments made by the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan at 33rd ASEAN Regional Forum as baseless and unwarranted.
3. At the 21st East Asia Summit (EAS) in Manila, Philippines, India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized that international waterways must remain safe, secure, and free from obstruction, in accordance with international law. His remarks came amid concerns over attacks on commercial shipping and rising tensions in West Asia.
4. External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar yesterday held talks with Brunei’s Foreign Minister, Prince Abdul Mateen, to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, drones, and digital innovation.

1. China launched the Gravity-1 carrier rocket on 22 July 2026 and placed nine satellites into their designated orbits. The launch took place at 10:54 a.m. Beijing time from a maritime platform in the East China Sea, east of Shanghai.
2. US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran stating that Washington will hold Tehran directly accountable if the Iran backed and Yemen based armed group Houthi executes further attacks on maritime vessels.
3. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the ASEAN ministerial meetings in Manila yesterday. During the talks, Mr Lavrov expressed Moscow’s readiness to resolve the conflict in Ukraine and its commitment to the agreement reached in Anchorage.
4. A voluntary shutdown and wheel jam strike continue in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, PoJK. The Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) has urged people of the PoJK to participate in the protests yesterday with full strength to demand implementation of their demands and pray for those who were killed by Pakistani authorities during the movement.
5. British Airways has launched an investigation after all three pilots operating a flight from Hyderabad to London Heathrow reportedly fell ill with suspected food poisoning following an overnight stopover in the city. The incident involved British Airways flight BA276, which departed Hyderabad for London.
