1. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu yesterday addressed the Assembly of North Macedonia in Skopje during her historic state visit, the first ever by an Indian President to the country. Addressing the House, the President conveyed the goodwill of 1.4 billion Indians and described North Macedonia as an important partner in building a stable.
2. Delhi Government has facilitated the allotment of internship seats to 275 Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) following the counselling process across 12 Hospitals. 1. Tensions between Iran and the United States escalated further as both sides exchanged strikes for the tenth consecutive day, with the crisis around the strategically important Strait of Hormuz deepening. Iran attacked a tanker passing through the Strait, forcing its crew to abandon the vessel, while the United States carried out another round of airstrikes on targets inside Iran.
2. US President Donald Trump has announced a 50 percent tariff on a range of Canadian imports, accusing the country of continuing to discriminate against American products.
3. A voluntary shutdown and wheel jam strike continue in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, PoJK. The Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) has urged people of the PoJK to participate in the protests on July 23, with full strength to demand implementation of their demands and pray for those who were killed by Pakistani authorities during the movement.
4. In Pakistan, the death toll from rain-related incidents during the ongoing monsoon spell has risen to nine.
5. In Afghanistan, at least 20 people were killed, around 80 others injured and over 100 remain missing after flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall struck Nuristan province in the eastern part of the country.
