10. Marine Drive-Worli Sea Link section of the Mumbai Coastal Road Project will be ready by November this year. The project will connect Nariman Point in South Mumbai with the Bandra-Worli Sea Link via a 10.58 km long coastal road and a series of roads and underground tunnels.

11. Char Dham Yatra: Over 2 Lakh Registrations Done For Pilgrimage Slated To Start In April. Apart from the designated website, pilgrims also have the option of registering through phone and WhatsApp. The yatra will begin on April 22 with the opening of the Yamunotri and Gangotri temples. Kedarnath will open on April 25 and Badrinath on April 27.

CRIME REPORT

1. ED on Friday arrested former Maharashtra minister Anil Parab’s business partner, Sadanand Kadam, after questioning in a money laundering case relating to the Dapoli Sai Resort scam.

2. A group of women police personnel bulldozed the home of a rape accused in Madhya Pradesh. The accused was allegedly involved in the gang-rape case of a girl nearly 250 km from the capital Bhopal. According to police, it was an illegal structure and he had allegedly encroached on government land.

3. Large section of govt employees hold strike in West Bengal for dearness allowance (DA) hike. The strike called by the Joint Forum of State Government Employees was supported by the CPI(M)-led Left Front.

1. The Reserve Bank of India cancelled the Certificate of Registration (CoR) of 17 Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) due to various reasons. The firms include Dhanbad Properties, Jainex India, JM Holdings, New Age Import, Jubilant Securities, Shriram Capital and Shriram City Union Finance

2. The number of subscribers under various schemes under the National Pension System (NPS) has increased by 22.8% year-on-year to 6.24 crore as of March 4, 2023.

3. The 5th Asean-India Business Summit took place recently on 6 March 2023 in Kuala Lumpur. Speakers and participants from Asean and India convened to discuss how business linkages, connectivity and supply chain resilience can be enhanced through deeper ASEAN-India cooperation.

1. A major fire broke out on the set of TV serial ‘Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein’ at Goregaon Film City in Mumbai. No injuries reported.

2. Telugu star Allu Arjun has charged ₹125 crore for his Bollywood debut film to be directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, reports stated. The remuneration is believed to be one of the highest ever paid to a South Indian actor. Sources stated that Allu surpassed Prabhas, who was previously Tollywood’s highest-paid actor. He reportedly charges ₹100 crore for a film.

3. Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has rejected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s request to seek airtime during the Oscars ceremony, Variety reported. According to the report, the Oscars Academy have not yet given a reason for their refusal. This is the second time Zelenskyy tried to land airtime at the Oscars but failed.

1. Defence Ministry signed a contract for the procurement of six Dornier-228 aircraft for the Indian Air Force (IAF) from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) at a cost of Rs 667 crore.

2. Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take part in 54th Raising Day Celebrations of CISF on 12th March in Hyderabad.

3. The Central government has announced that 10 percent reservation will be given to Ex-Agniveers in the BSF recruitment.

4. In Ladakh, Colonel Geeta Rana from Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers is the first woman to command an army battalion in the Eastern Ladakh region with China after the Indian Army recently approved women officers for command posts.
