1. India has lodged a strong protest with Iran after two vessels carrying Indian crew were attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, leaving one sailor dead and several injured.The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has condemned the strikes, demanded an immediate halt to such violence.
2. Two UAE national tankers, Mombasa and Al Bahiyah, were struck by Iranian cruise missiles while transiting the southern shipping lane of the Strait of Hormuz in Omani territorial waters.The attack killed one Indian crew member aboard the Mombasa and injured eight others, including six Indians and two Ukrainians.
3. India And US Officials Dismiss ‘Fake News’ Reports of Trade Deal Rejection : US Ambassador Sergio Gor and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal have firmly rejected reports claiming India turned down a quick trade deal with Washington, branding them “fake news” and “completely false.” Both sides insist negotiations remain constructive, with the agreement nearly finalised and no major hurdles reported.
4. US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor has warmly welcomed the Indian Navy’s participation in the ongoing Rim of the Pacific Exercise 2026 in Hawaii.
5. India has formally launched its campaign for election as a non‑permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2028‑29 term, with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar outlining the country’s priorities during an address at the UN Headquarters in New York.
6. India and Japan convened their 8th Defence Policy Dialogue in Tokyo on Monday, reaffirming their shared commitment to a free, open and rules-based Indo-Pacific region.The meeting brought together senior officials from both sides to review the progress achieved in bilateral defence cooperation.
7. The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between India and the United Kingdom will come into force from today. The landmark deal grants Indian exports zero-duty access to 99 per cent of tariff lines in the UK market.
Simultaneously, the Agreement on Social Security also referred to as the Double Contribution Convention (DCC) will also come into effect, reinforcing the mobility and competitiveness of Indian professionals in the United Kingdom
8. Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju yesterday departed for Doha to convey condolences on behalf of the Government and people of India on the sad demise of Qatar’s Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

6. The death toll from a huge fire in a Bangkok music bar has increased to 30. Bangkok city officials said more than 70 people remain hospitalised, with 24 of them are in critical condition.
