1. The Monsoon Session of the Parliament will commence on 20th of this month. It will continue till 13th of August. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju informed that President Droupadi Murmu has approved the proposal of the Government to convene the Monsoon Session of Parliament from 20th July.

2. J&K Statehood Debate Continues
The issue of restoring full statehood to Jammu & Kashmir remains a major political topic, with discussions continuing at the national level.

3. Indian Potash Limited and Jain Irrigation Systems Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 8 July 2026 at Indian Potash Limited’s corporate office in New Delhi. The agreement covers drip irrigation systems for sugarcane cultivation in Gujarat and includes survey, design, supply, installation, training, and field demonstrations.

4. Centre of Excellence on Human-Wildlife Conflict was inaugurated on 10 July 2026 at the Wildlife Institute of India–Sálim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History campus in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

5. Indian Railways approved two infrastructure projects worth ₹381 crore on 10 July 2026 for railway safety and maintenance works. The projects include Kavach Version 4.0 deployment across 680 route kilometres in the Delhi Division of Northern Railway and additional homing facilities for electric locomotives at Raipur under South East Central Railway.

6. The Central Government has made licences mandatory for medicinal formulations containing high alcohol content. These medicines will now be available only on the prescription of a registered medical practitioner to prevent misuse.

7. EKA Mobility, along with the Government of Rajasthan, has commenced the field deployment of a major public transport fleet, with CM Bhajan Lal Sharma flagging off the initial batch of electric buses in Jaipur. The vehicle induction represents the first operational phase of a comprehensive procurement order totaling 876 electric buses allocated for the state.

8. The Maharashtra government increased financial assistance for farmers by expanding its farm loan waiver scheme, providing relief to thousands of eligible cultivators affected by financial stress.

9. Uttarakhand becomes India’s sixth fully literate state. The state achieved full literacy under the ULLAS programme.

10. Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said that the government is planning to introduce E85 fuel, which would be about 20 rupees cheaper per litre than standard E20 petrol. He said E85 would be restricted to vehicles specifically designed to use the fuel.

11. The Railway Board (RB) has approved the introduction of four new train services across Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Punjab. It also extended the service of one existing train. The move is aimed at improving rail connectivity between several cities and providing passengers with more travel options across the Indian Railways (IR) network.

12. The Pink Saheli Smart Card is a digital travel card for women and transgender commuters in Delhi. From 1 August 2026, it will be mandatory for free bus travel on Delhi Transport Corporation and cluster buses, while pink paper tickets will remain valid only until 31 July 2026.

13. The Madras High Court has restrained the Election Commission from issuing notifications for by-elections to five vacant Assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu until 31 July.

14. The IMD has issued heavy to very heavy rainfall warnings for several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Gujarat.

1. The Delhi High Court on Friday upheld actor Rajpal Yadav’s conviction in cheque-bounce cases, sentencing him to three months’ imprisonment. The court also directed Yadav to pay more than Rs 1 crore to the complainant in each of the seven complaints.

2. The Jammu and Kashmir administration issued a fresh advisory for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026, asking pilgrims to strictly follow the registration process and safety guidelines.

3. The Madras High Court has restrained the Election Commission of India (ECI) from notifying bye-elections in Trichy (East), Perundurai, Ambasamudram, Viralimalai & Karur assembly constituencies till July 31st .

4. The West Bengal Police on Friday (June 10, 2026) froze 12 more bank accounts of the Trinamool Congress with deposits of over ₹1,000 crore, following complaints of illegal diversion of funds.

5. The Supreme Court has ruled that compensation in motor accident cases should be based on the victim’s loss of earning capacity rather than only the percentage of physical disability. The judgment is expected to ensure fairer compensation for accident victims.

1. The Indian Navy is set to add a formidable new asset to its arsenal with the commissioning of INS Mahendragiri (F38), the sixth Project 17A indigenous stealth frigate, at the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam on Saturday (July 11, 2026).

3. India stands as the primary guarantor of peace and stability in the Indian Ocean Region,” said Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh as he commended the Indian Navy for safeguarding the nation’s maritime interests and upholding the Tricolour amid an increasingly complex global security environment.

He was addressing naval personnel in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on July 10, 2026, during Barakhana on the eve of the commissioning of Mahendragiri, the sixth Project 17A indigenous stealth frigate, into the Indian Navy.
