1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a visit to Odisha and West Bengal from today. In Odisha, he will join President Droupadi Murmu at Pahadpur village in Mayurbhanj district, on the occasion of the President’s 68th birthday. The President and Prime Minister will visit Pahadpur village in Mayurbhanj district and offer prayers at sacred groves Santhali Jahera and Ho Jahera, Skill Centre and Pahadpur School.
2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi disbursed incentives worth two thousand four hundred crore rupees under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) at a function in New Delhi. This disbursal marks a significant milestone in the implementation of the PM-VBRY, which is the government’s flagship employment-linked incentive scheme aimed at accelerating job creation, enhancing employability and expanding social security coverage across sectors.
3. Country’s first commercial plant to manufacture ammonium nitrate from coal to be setup in Jharsuguda district of Odisha, with an outlay of 25 thousand crore rupees.

6. Maharashtra’s School Education Department signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Google for Education to provide artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology training to more than four lakh teachers across the state over the next 18 months.
7. Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan, who also holds Finance portfolio, presented revised Budget 2026-27 in Assembly, pledging a ‘New Kerala’ with inclusive growth and sustainable infrastructure. He emphasised healthcare and welfare of senior citizens in the first budget of the UDF government. He announced restructuring of the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) through an expert committee and a new Land Management Policy.
8. In the Kashmir Valley, foolproof security and elaborate arrangements have been put in place ahead of the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. The 57-day pilgrimage will begin on 3rd July and conclude on 28th August. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has chaired multiple high-level review meetings to review preparedness. Senior police and civil administration officials have also visited Pahalgam and Baltal to assess ground arrangements.
9. A review meeting on urban development and power sector schemes was held in Ranchi under the chairmanship of Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs and Power, Manohar Lal. The meeting discussed issues related to the Swachh Bharat Mission, public toilets, drainage and sewerage systems, waste management, and the installation of smart and prepaid electricity meters in urban areas.
10. In Haryana, a state-level event marking the 12th International Yoga Day will be held in Panchkula on June 21. A pilot rehearsal was conducted yesterday in preparation for the occasion, featuring participation from Panchkula Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma, employees from various departments, students from schools and colleges, personnel from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), as well as local yoga organisations.

The Supreme Court of India on 19 June 2026 said that a Young Lawyers’ Professional Assistance Fund must be created to support advocates facing financial hardship during the first years of practice. The bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice V Mohana issued notice to the Centre, states, Union Territories, and other stakeholders in a matter concerning young lawyers and women advocates.
2. RBI has cancelled the licence of Karnataka’s Shree Mahalaxmi Urban Co-operative Credit Bank due to financial weaknesses.
3. Delhi Police has informed that under Operation CyHawk 5.0, nine hundred sixteen people have been arrested in connection with various online frauds and cybercrimes.

1. Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu directed a 20% reservation for ex-Agniveers in Group ‘C’ posts in Delhi government departments and agencies on 18 June 2026. The order covers direct recruitment in operational services, including police constables, firemen, jail warders, and forest and wildlife guards.
2. The Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Bharat Forge Limited, Pune for the acquisition of 12 sets of 1.25 MW Marine Gas Turbine Generators, with minimum 60% indigenous content, for the Indian Navy at a total cost of around Rs 425 crore. The contract was inked under Buy (Indian) category in the presence of Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh in New Delhi on June 19, 2026.
3. The Indian Navy has officially retired its iconic Sea King Mk 42B helicopter fleet and decommissioned the historic Indian Naval Air Squadron 330 (INAS 330), marking the end of an era after more than five decades of distinguished operational service.

5. The Indian Army has issued the 174-page Army Uniforms-2026 manual, its first major revision in eight years, detailing updates to remove residual colonial-era customs and standardise dress codes. Key reforms include making sword carriage optional for reviewing officers, removing pouch belts from Mess Dress Nos. 5 and 6, and discontinuing the use of terms such as ‘Royal’. The manual also adds the indigenous closed-neck Bandi jacket to officers’ formal attire, worn over a full-sleeved shirt with matching trousers and closed footwear.
6. Border Security Force (BSF) has apprehended one accused from Amritsar border with Pakistan with 1 AK-47 rifle, 25 pistols, 368 live cartridges and a bulletproof jacket. BSF conducted the operation in coordination with the Punjab Police near the Indo-Pak International Border in Punjab.
