THE KONARK SUN TEMPLE is a 13th-century Hindu temple dedicated to the Sun God Surya, located in Odisha.
Built by King Narasimhadeva I of the Eastern Ganga dynasty around 1250 CE, the temple is designed in the form of a gigantic stone chariot with 24 intricately carved wheels and seven horses.
It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of India’s finest examples of ancient architecture.
