1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is participating in a high-level working session at the ongoing G7 Summit in Evian, France.

2. The G7 nations have announced a series of initiatives to strengthen global health and development cooperation, with several partner countries, including India, extending their support. The G7 leaders called for a coordinated international response to the re-emerging Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda.

3. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has launched Unified Payments Interface (UPI) at Nice Massena in France.

4. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has clarified that no proposal is currently under consideration by the Ministry on a proposed Middle East-India deep water pipeline.

5. Twenty-one Indian crew members of the vessel MT Settebello have safely returned home following a tragic maritime incident off the coast of Oman. The Indian Embassy in Muscat, Oman shared that the Ambassador interacted with the rescued crew members before their departure, conveyed his best wishes, and appreciated their resilience during the difficult ordeal.

6. India and Japan have adopted the Rules of Implementation for the Joint Crediting Mechanism or JCM under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement, for enhancing cooperation on climate action, greenhouse gas emission reduction and sustainable development initiatives.

7. The Fencing Association of India (FAI) has officially announced the Indian senior team for the 26th Senior Asian Fencing Championships 2026, which will be held in Delhi from June 19 to 24. Marking a historic milestone, India will host the prestigious continental event for the first time. Over 30 countries and more than 400 top athletes will participate in this high-stakes competition.

1. Biometric enrolment of refugees from Myanmar and Bangladesh taking shelter in Mizoram is nearing completion. State Home Department officials said that biometric registration of 29,047 Myanmar refugees out of 29,727, and 1,447 refugees from Bangladesh’s Chittagong Hill Tracts out of 1,487, has been completed. This accounts for more than 97 per cent coverage in both categories.

2. The United States has begun easing its naval blockade of Iranian ports, a significant step toward de-escalation following a framework agreement to end the ongoing conflict.

3. Switzerland’s foreign ministry said a signing ceremony for a deal between the United States and Iran will take place on Friday at the Burgenstock resort near the city of Luzern.

4. One person was killed and four others injured after a 6.3-magnitude earthquake jolted Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in northwest China.

5. Nine people were killed and 25 others injured after a train collided with a bus in Triangle, a sugar-producing town in southern Zimbabwe.

6. Brazil’s Supreme Court on Tuesday sentenced Eduardo Bolsonaro to four years and two months in prison after finding that he sought support for US sanctions against his own country while legal proceedings against his father were underway.
