6. Maharashtra is considering a separate “Single Parent Child” category in college admission forms for higher and technical education. The proposal was discussed on 13 June 2026, and the Higher and Technical Education Minister, Chandrakant Patil, said that a high-level committee will be formed for implementation.

The initiative aims to strengthen supervision and invigilation processes for NTA examinations and ensure the smooth, secure, and standardised conduct of offline, pen-and-paper-based tests.

1. Manipur Police notified that certain individuals and groups are creating, sharing, and circulating unverified and provocative content on various social media platforms. In a social media post, Manipur Police said such posts contain serious allegations and have the potential to incite communal tension, disturb public order, and adversely affect social harmony.
2. The Fact Check Unit of External Affairs Ministry has cautioned people that fake announcements and advertisements for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra are circulating online. It urged people to beware of such announcements and advertisements. It further stated that kmy.gov.in is the only genuine portal for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra organised by External Affairs Ministry.
3. Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has busted organised gold smuggling syndicates in Eastern and North Eastern part of India. The agency carried out coordinated operations in Kolkata and Agartala and seized around 17 kilogram foreign origin gold worth 25 crore rupees. The DRI arrested 10 persons in connection with the case.

1. Government has appointed Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth as the next Chief of the Army Staff with effect from the afternoon of 30th June. He is presently serving as the Vice Chief of the Army Staff. The present Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi is retiring from service the same day.
2. Indian Naval Ship Tarkash, which is a stealth frigate of the Indian Navy, reached Seychelles’ Port Victoria during ongoing operational deployment to the South West Indian Ocean Region. The ship escorted Seychelles Coast Guard ship PS Zoroaster from India to Seychelles, on completion of refit in Kolkata.
3. The Indian Army welcomed 481 new young officers as the 158th Passing Out Parade was held with grandeur at the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
At the historic Chetwode Building of the IMA, a total of 515 Gentleman and Women Cadets crossed the “Antim Pag” and were commissioned as Army officers.
