10. NITI Aayog convenes interaction with CMs of North-Eastern states
NITI Aayog yesterday convened an interaction with the Chief Ministers of the North-Eastern States. Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura participated and deliberated on development priorities, innovations and challenges.

1. The Supreme Court dismissed the writ petition filed by Congress member Meenakshi Natarajan challenging the rejection of her Rajya Sabha candidature from Madhya Pradesh. The Supreme Court declined to interfere with the Returning Officer’s decision rejecting her nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections over the alleged non-disclosure of a criminal case in Telangana.
2. The government has restricted institutional, industrial and commercial customers from buying motor spirit and high-speed diesel from retail outlets and asked them to source their requirements from their own consumer pump. The decision has been taken to prevent local shortages amid disruptions in global supply chains caused by the ongoing crisis in West Asia.
3. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has arrested four people and seized 71 lakh sticks of foreign-origin smuggled cigarettes worth 14 crore rupees since May this year, across the North Eastern Region.

1. The Defence Acquisition Council has approved the induction of the ₹5,150 crore Dharashakti Integrated Electronic Warfare (EW) System, a landmark indigenous capability that can jam multiple enemy airborne early warning and control systems (AEWCS), fighter radars, synthetic aperture radars (SAR), encrypted communications, and navigation networks.
2. Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, currently serving as the Deputy Chief of the Indian Army, has been appointed as the new Military Adviser to the National Security Council Secretariat.
3. Lieutenant General Sandeep Singh, AVSM, has assumed the role of Commandant at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Gaya, ushering in a new era of leadership at one of the Indian Army’s essential pre-commission training establishments. His appointment has been warmly welcomed by Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Army Training Command.

India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) carried out a highly secretive missile test from the Chandipur range in Balasore, Odisha, on 10 June 2026.The trial was conducted under unusually tight security, with over 11,000 residents evacuated, fuelling speculation that the exercise involved a next‑generation strategic weapon such as the Agni‑6 intercontinental ballistic missile.
5. A 21-year-old man was apprehended in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur district on Friday for allegedly posing as a senior Indian Army officer. The operation to capture him was a joint effort by the Station Headquarters Shahjahanpur and local ex-servicemen. The individual, identified as Aryan Verma, was allegedly dressed in the uniform of a brigadier and was driving a Tata Harrier vehicle that displayed a one-star plate and an Army Headquarters flag. 6. Pakistan on Friday hiked its defence spending by 17.6 percent to PKRs 3,000 billion, marking a significant increase from last year. Last year, the government allocated PKRs 2550 billion for defence, which was 20 percent higher than the previous year.
