We are sad. We are upset. We are sleep deprived and at the same time, couch potatoes. There is no spark in us. And those who do have little spark left are restless like firecrackers as if anytime would explode if things don’t work as per the plan.
This is a high time when we as a society should pause and reflect on how we are bringing our children up and what quality of youngsters we are producing. Are they capable of running society, government, country, and world resources consciously?
Just like Pablo Neruda said in his poem Keeping Quiet,
“It would be an exotic moment
without rush, without engines;
we would all be together
in a sudden strangeness.”
Or are they so deeply muddled in their own psychological drama that existential life is a further more consequential virtual reality to them?
Whatever the harsh truth may be, it is time we own our truth. We own our past. We own our flaws along with our strengths. We own our responsibilities.
If we reflect on the universal truth, we will realize yogis are not very different from businessmen, and businessmen would realize they are not very different from school children or criminals.
In fact, all of us are produced from the same source of creation irrespective of our nationality, religion, race, class, creed, or gender. So, we may seek different things in life like money, intellect, people, power, fame, physical pleasure, love, peace, etc, but ultimately we are seeking the same thing i.e cosmic consciousness, the ultimate realization.
Though, depending on our exposure, our desire for the ultimate finds its expression on paths that are available or known at that time to us. Yet, consciously or unconsciously we seek to be boundless and liberated. And it begins, when we find our GURU.
