1. In Karnataka, senior Congress leader D K Shivakumar was sworn in as the 25th Chief Minister of the state.
2. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the State government aims to involve one crore people in the Yoga Andhra 2026 campaign, which will be conducted across Andhra Pradesh from June 7 to June 20 as part of the 12th International Day of Yoga celebrations.
3. The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) has released the schedule for the State Service Main Examination 2025. According to the Commission, the written examination will be conducted from June 6 to June 9.

5. Union Cabinet has approved one-time budgetary support of ten thousand crore rupees for Oil Marketing Companies to provide ATF price stabilisation support to Indian Airlines for their domestic and international operations.
6. In a major political development in West Bengal, Ritabrata Banerjee has been appointed as the Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. The appointment follows the Assembly Speaker’s reported recognition of a rebel group of Trinamool Congress legislators as a separate legislative party.
7. Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma yesterday visited Granth Kutir in Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi and viewed the collection of manuscripts.
8. Punjab’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Anindita Mitra has informed that to accelerate the pace of pre-mapping of electors under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), special camps will be organised on June 7th at all polling stations across the state.

In Jammu and Kashmir the State Election Commission (SEC) will be holding two day high-level meeting from today with the District Election Officers (DEOs) and others to review preparations for Panchayat and District Development Council elections in the Union Territory. The Panchayats and Block Development Councils ceased to exist in Jammu and Kashmir on January 9, 2024.

11. West Bengal’s social security scheme “Annapurna Yojana” was formally launched yesterday. Minister of Urban Development and also Minister of Women, Child Development and Social Welfare, Agnimitra Paul, inaugurated the scheme. Beneficiaries to receive ₹3,000 directly in bank accounts.
12. The Meghalaya Democratic Alliance-II (MDA-II) announced National People’s Party (NPP) leader James PK Sangma as its candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha election slated for 18th of this month.
13. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said that the state government has initiated immediate containment measures after closely monitoring the fresh outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) in the state. He informed that the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department was taking all possible steps and precautionary measures to contain the outbreak and ensure that it did not spread on a large scale.
14. The Telangana government has revised the minimum wages payable to employees across the state, Rs 14,000 from June 1
with the new rates coming into effect from June 1.
15. The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange warning for heavy rainfall over Kerala and Mahe today. Heavy rainfall is also expected over Uttarakhand, Parts of North Eastern India, West Bengal, Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep during the next two days.

1. The Election Commission of India is conducting Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Telangana. A review meeting was held in Hyderabad to coordinate the third phase of this process. Senior Election Commission officials, led by Principal Secretary and Deputy Secretary, attended the meeting.

The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed penalties on a leading coaching institute and a software company for using dark pattern practices that misled consumers and influenced their choices on digital platforms. The coaching institute has been fined 5 lakh rupees, while the software company has been fined 1 lakh rupees.
5. Gas Cylinder Booking Rules: Oil marketing companies like BPCL have issued a new advisory in regard to LPG cylinder delivery. BPCL stated it launched the DAC (Delivery Authentication Code) facility for commercial deliveries to ensure cylinders reach the correct customer securely. This is called OTP-based delivery and it is mandatory for customers. If you do not have an OTP on your registered mobile number during the delivery of Indane Gas, BharatGas and HP Gas, your LPG delivery will be cancelled.

Constructed by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), this 110-metre hydrographic survey ship represents a significant addition to India’s maritime mapping and oceanographic capabilities.
4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to make a high-profile visit to Surat on 5 June, coinciding with World Environment Day, where he will personally inspect strategic defence projects at Larsen & Toubro’s Hazira facility.
