1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under the 19th Rozgar Mela, handed over appointment letters to more than 51,000 youths across the country through video conferencing. Employment fairs were organized at 47 locations nationwide, including a programme at the CCL auditorium in Ranchi and in Dhanbad.
2. Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari distributed appointment letters to new recruits in 19th tranche of Rojgar Mela in Nagpur yesterday. The programme was held at National Fire Service College NFSC in Nagpur.

13. Raghav Chadha, a Rajya Sabha member, was appointed chairman of the Committee on Petitions of the Upper House on 23 May 2026. The appointment took effect on 20 May 2026 after the committee was reconstituted by Rajya Sabha Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan.
14. India launched the National Mission on Edible Oils – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP) in 2021 as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme with an outlay of Rs. 11,040 crore. The mission covers oil palm cultivation, crude palm oil (CPO) production, and edible oilseed availability in India.
15. Odisha’s Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts department has launched a revival plan for the original Bomkai weaving tradition in Ganjam district. The project is titled Revival of Languishing Products (Cotton Bomkai Saree) and was approved by the state government in the last financial year.
16. The Telangana government will implement revised land registration market values from May 28 to boost revenue. At a Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting chaired by Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, officials also discussed finalising industrial policy guidelines and reviewed revenue targets across departments.

1. Delhi CM Rekha Gupta announces reforms to improve transparency in registry services: Government decided to transform all Sub-Registrar offices into modern, technology-driven and citizen-friendly service centres. The initiative aims to eliminate delays, corruption, middlemen and unnecessary procedural hurdles in property registration services across the city.
2. In Jharkhand, Latehar Police arrested an active self-styled sub-zonal commander and 5 lakh rupee rewardee, Shiv Narayan Singh of the extremist outfit JJMP (Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad) during a special operation.
3. The Centre has asked Gymkhana Club in New Delhi to hand over its premises by 5th of next month, citing that the land was required for strengthening defence infrastructure. 5. In Tamil Nadu, a Special Court in Tiruppur has sentenced 25 Bangladeshi labourers to two years of imprisonment for illegal stay in India. The workers were staying without valid documents while employed at a textile company in Palladam in Tiruppur district.
6. On 22 May 2026, the Delhi High Court allowed Olympian wrestler Vinesh Phogat to take part in the selection trials for the Asian Games 2026. The trials are scheduled for 30 and 31 May 2026, and the case involved eligibility rules issued by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).

1. Indian Army officer Major Abhilasha Barak, serving with the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Lebanon, has been honoured with the prestigious United Nations Military Gender Advocate of the Year Award for 2025.
Major Barak is currently serving with the Indian Battalion as Commander of the Female Engagement Team in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). She is also the first woman combat helicopter pilot of the Indian Army.
2. In Ladakh, under the aegis of Operation Sadbhawna, the Fire and Fury Corps of the Indian Army successfully organised the week-long Batalik Volleyball Championship in the border region of Ladakh, which concluded yesterday with great enthusiasm and participation from local youth.
3. A Short Range Ballistic Missile ‘Agni-1’ was successfully test-launched from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, Odisha. Ministry of Defence said that the launch validated all operational and technical parameters. The test was carried out under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command.
4. In Manipur, Assam Rifles organised a series of community outreach initiatives yesterday and these activities aimed to inspire the youth to embrace education, make informed career choices and adopt a healthy lifestyle.

1. Reserve Bank of India approved a dividend of ₹2,86,588.46 crore for the Central Government for the accounting year 2025-26 on 22 May 2026. The amount is the largest surplus transfer in the history of the Reserve Bank of India and is 6.7% higher than the ₹2.69 lakh crore transferred in 2024-25.
