northeast election results 2023 updates counting begins

1. Ruling parties in lead as counting begins in Tripura, Meghalaya, Nagaland. The BJP was ahead in 24 seats in Tripura, the NDPP in 17 in Nagaland, and the NPP in Meghalaya in 17 of the 60 seats each

2. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar inaugurated the new Management Development Centre of IIM(B) in Bengaluru on Wednesday. The new campus in Jigani near Bengaluru is constructed at a cost of 55 crore rupees.

12. The prices of buffalo milk have been hiked by ₹5/litre in Mumbai from March 1 onwards. The bulk price of buffalo milk will now be Rs. 85/litre, up from Rs. 80/litre while retail price will be Rs. 90/litre, up from Rs. 85/litre.

CRIME REPORT

1. A special NIA court in Lucknow awarded seven ISIS-linked terrorists the death sentence in connection with a 2017 bomb blast inside a train in Uttar Pradesh and other terror activities.

2.. Around 2,500 Yaba tablets worth about 7.5 lakh were seized from Assam’s Cachar district and two persons were arrested.

3. A first-year student of Sri Chaitanya College at Narsingi on the outskirts of Hyderabad allegedly died by suicide late on Tuesday night, the police said. After his family accused the college management of harassment, a case was registered against the college principal and two wardens.

4. The Supreme Court refused to hear an urgent plea challenging internet shutdown in Rajasthan, to curb cheating in competitive examinations, and said that it will hear it after the Holi break. The apex court disagreed with Advocate Vishal Tiwari who said internet shutdowns ‘adversely’ impacted the functioning of courts.

5. A prostitution racket operating from a hotel in Lucknow’s Naka Hindola area was busted, said police. As many as 12 people, including seven women and five men, were arrested.
