1. The Iranian mission in India on Saturday said that a second consignment of medical supplies funded by donations from people in India has now been sent to the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran, even as earlier efforts to move a larger shipment faced disruptions.
2. The ministry of external affairs (MEA) on Sunday once again rejected China’s attempts to rename locations in India, saying that giving fictitious cannot alter the undeniable reality that these places remained an integral and inalienable part of India.
3. China has
established a new county in its Xinjiang region near Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and the Afghanistan border, a move that comes amid ongoing tensions with India over disputed territories, particularly in Ladakh.
This is the third county created by China in Xinjiang in just over a year. India had previously lodged a protest with Beijing over the establishment of Hean and Hekang counties.

India’s electoral process drew significant international attention during the International Election Visitors’ Programme (IEVP) 2026, conducted alongside Assembly elections in Kerala, Puducherry and Assam. A total of 38 delegates from 22 countries observed the conduct of elections, praising the scale, organisation and public participation.
