Nikita Dutta is stepping into a pivotal new space with Dharmatic Entertainment’s upcoming Prime Video India series Nazdeekiyan, a project that positions her at the center of a layered relationship drama.
Backed by Karan Johar, the series also stars Paresh Pahuja with Aakanksha Singh and Tasha Shah and is described as a contemporary exploration of modern relationships.
Dutta’s casting in this highly anticipated series marks her first collaboration with Dharma. Speaking about her collaboration she was quoted saying “I’m very excited for Nazdeekiyan, especially as it marks my first collaboration with Dharmatic. It’s a beautifully written story, paired with a wonderful set of co-actors. Working with a director who has such clarity of vision, and having Karan’s backing, makes the experience even more meaningful.”
The project arrives at a time when Indian streaming content is increasingly focused on pushing the content envelope with newer offerings. Nazdeekiyan is expected to explore relationship dynamics, requiring performances that rely on restraint rather than overt dramatics , a space that Dutta, Pahuja and Badusha both have steadily made her own.
