1. In Badminton, top-seeded Indian men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty pulled out of the Swiss Open in Basel yesterday ahead of its quarterfinal clash after a shoulder issue troubled Satwiksairaj.
In Men’s Singles Quarter-final, India’s Tharun Mannepalli will face Indonesia’s Anthony Ginting today.
2. India and New Zealand are expanding sports cooperation ahead of the 100-year milestone of sporting relations in 2026. The partnership includes joint training programmes, sports exchanges and the India–New Zealand Centenary Sports Cooperation Programme.
3. Arpita Patra, a professor at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), has successfully summited Nevado Ojos del Salado, the highest volcanic peak in the world and the tallest mountain in Chile. By reaching the summit at an altitude of 6,893 metres on March 6, she became the second Indian woman to achieve this milestone.
