1. Just hours after Mojtaba Khamenei was named Iran’s new supreme leader, Iran launched fresh missile and drone strikes targeting Israel and parts of the Gulf region, escalating tensions across West Asia.
2. The United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s Ministry of Defence said that two members of its armed forces died in a helicopter crash due to a technical malfunction.

4. Sri Lanka has formally dissolved the state-run Ceylon Electricity Board, replacing it with six new companies as part of a major restructuring of the country’s power sector.
5. The Investigation Commission investigating the incidents of September 8 and 9 during the Gen-Z protests has handed over a comprehensive 1,000-page report to Nepal Prime Minister Sushila Karki.
