1. Vice President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan witnessed a vibrant cultural evening hosted by the Governor of Mizoram, Gen. (Dr.) V.K. Singh (Retd.), at Lok Bhavan in Aizawl.

2. PM Modi has said that the government is putting great emphasis on bringing a ‘technology culture’ to agriculture. Addressing a Post Budget Webinar on the theme Agriculture and Rural Transformation through video conferencing.

3. Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) has issued a draft suo motu order proposing generic renewable energy (RE) tariffs and Average Power Purchase Cost (APPC) benchmarks for FY 2026–27.

4. Indian Railways carried over 137 million tonnes of freight in February this year, registering a significant increase of 3.96 percent as compared to the same period last year.

5. The second edition of the Fit India Carnival will begin at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday, commemorating the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026. The carnival will be organised on the 8th, 9th and 10th after completion of the 64th edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle at the Major Dhyanchand Stadium.

6. National Commission for Women, NCW, has announced the organisation of a nationwide Mahila Jan Sunwai from the 8th of March, 2026, as part of its flagship outreach programme Rashtriya Mahila Aayog Aapke Dwaar to hear women’s grievances and ensure prompt redressal.

7. The final result of Civil Services Examination (CSE), 2025 has been declared yesterday. The Union Public Service Commission said that more than 9 lakh thirty thousand candidates applied for Civil Services Preliminary examination, which was conducted on 25th May, 2025. UPSC said that Anuj Agnihotri has has secured the first position, Rajeshwari Suve and Akansh Dhull stood at the second and third rank respectively.

8. The government informed that over five thousand female staff have been deployed by the NHAI during day shifts to manage toll booths at over one thousand one hundred toll plazas across the National Highways and Expressway networks in the country.

9. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth around 33 thousand 500 crore rupees in New Delhi on Sunday.

10. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has granted the Aerodrome License to Yamuna International Airport Private Limited for the Noida International Airport at Jewar in Gautam Budh Nagar of Uttar Pradesh. The airport has been licensed under the Public Use category for all-weather operations.

1. Lok Sabha schedules to take up resolution seeking removal of Speaker Om Birla on Monday.

2. Government directs the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) to immediately suspend the reporting of television rating points for news TV channels for four weeks. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting says that some TV news channels display unwarranted sensationalism and speculative content amid the ongoing Israel–Iran conflict.

3. Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached immovable properties worth more than 206 crore rupees in a money-laundering case involving TDI Infrastructure Ltd. ED said that the assets include around 8.3 acres of land and commercial units located in Kamaspur in Sonipat, Haryana, owned by the company and its associated entities.

4. In Chhattisgarh, a Maoist was killed in an encounter between police and Maoists in the forest area along the Dantewada-Bijapur border. The killed Maoist has been identified as Rajesh Punem, an Area Committee Member of the Bhairamgarh Area Committee of the Maoist organisation.

5. Karnataka government has proposed a ban on social media use for children under the age of 16 as part of its 2026–27 state budget. Chief minister Siddaramaiah announced the move while presenting his 17th budget in the state assembly.

An Indian Air Force Su-30MKI fighter jet has gone missing over Assam’s Karbi Anglong district. Two Indian Air Force (IAF) pilots were killed. The Air Force said the pilots were identified as Squadron Leader Anuj and Flight Lieutenant Purvesh Duragkar.

1. HALE UAV Program Momentum*: India’s High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) UAV program is gaining momentum with two DPSUs and one private company offering proposals. The Army seeks turboprop variants for border surveillance, the Air Force wants jet-powered stealth variants for contested airspace, and the Navy is focused on carrier-capable platforms.

2. Safran M88 Local Assembly: French firm Safran has offered local assembly of the M88 engine in India, potentially reducing long-term procurement costs by up to 20%. This move is expected to inject roughly ₹5,000 crore annually into India’s aerospace sector and train 500-2,000 Indian technicians.

3. The Indian Navy has deployed its P-8I Long Range Maritime Patrol aircraft and two vessels to support Sri Lanka in search and rescue operations for the crew of the Iranian warship torpedoed by a US Navy submarine.

4. Tejas Operational Status: The Defence Secretary confirmed that India’s Tejas aircraft fleet remains fully operational and clarified that both the Dubai Air Show crash and the February 7th incident were not due to technical faults.

5. A significant reshuffle in the top leadership of the Indian Army is expected to take place from April 1, 2026. The reshuffle involves key appointments among several senior three-star generals and will affect major operational commands as well as top positions at Army Headquarters in New Delhi.

6. Delhi-based JetSetGo has signed an MoU with England-based Vertical Aerospace to procure 50 VX4 electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft, marking a significant step toward advanced air mobility operations in India.

7. The Indian Navy has signed a contract with Shoft Shipyard Private Limited for the construction of four 500-ton self-propelled fuel barges to support logistics and refueling operations at naval bases.

8. BrahMos Aerospace is accelerating the development of an 800 km range version of the air-launched BrahMos supersonic cruise missile. It retains the 2.5-ton weight and 6m dimensions through higher-energy fuel and optimized air intake geometry. Initial separation trials from the Su-30MKI are planned for late 2026.

9. Subedar Major (Honorary Captain) Sanjay Kumar, a Param Vir Chakra (PVC) awardee of the Indian Army, has recently retired from service after a distinguished military career. Service years
26 June 1996 – 28 February 2026.

He belongs to the 13 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles regiment.
Sanjay Kumar received the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest wartime gallantry award, for his extraordinary bravery during the Kargil War in 1999.
