1. Pulwama Attack Anniversary: Feb 14, world is celebrating Valentine’s Day and India will mark the 4th anniversary of the horrifying Pulwama terrorist assault that claimed the lives of 40 CRPF soldiers.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) that lost 40 troopers in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack. A group of vehicles carrying security personnel on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a suicide bomber at Lethpora in the Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack resulted in the death of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans.

2. President of India Droupadi Murmu yesterday visited Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi and performed Pooja and Ganga Aarti at the ghat.

3. PM Modi will inaugurate the national Aadi Mahotsav on Thursday at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi. One thousand tribal artisans and artists from 28 States and Union Territories will take part in the festival.

4. India To Get Its First National Metro Rail Knowledge Centre In Delhi. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has awarded the contract, for the design and construction of the facility, to GA Infra Private Limited.

5. The Maharashtra govt. has announced that renowned social worker, preacher and reformer Dattatreya alias Appasaheb Dharmadikari will be honoured with Maharashtra Bhushan award for the year 2022. The Maharashtra Bhushan award comprises a medal, a citation and Rs 25 lakh.

6. Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan in G-20 Agriculture Working Group meeting at Indore, has said that, India will play a key role in ensuring food security to the world. Around 100 delegates from 30 countries including from G20 member countries are participating in the three-day event which will continue till 15th of this month.

7. In Tripura, around 14,000 voters belonging to migrant and newly settled Reang tribal people will cast their votes in the upcoming assembly election.

8. Delhi Mayor Polls Postponed, Supreme Court Says Nominated Members Shouldn’t Vote. The Delhi MCD polls, which was scheduled on February 16 has been postponed to a date after February 17.

9. On the last day of the first part of the Budget Session of the Parliament, the Rajya Sabha witnessed protests by opposition members over expunging the remarks of Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge, Adani Group issue and other matters.

10. Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra on Monday slammed the appointment of ex-Supreme Court judge S Abdul Nazeer as the new governor of Andhra Pradesh.

Justice Nazeer was a part of the five-judge bench dealing with politically sensitive cases including Ayodhya dispute, triple talaq and demonetisation.

CRIME / ACCIDENT REPORT

1. Security forces arrested two overground workers (OGWs) of Jaish-e-Mohammad in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. A cache of weapons, including 25 hand grenades, one pistol, two pistol magazines, 230 pistol rounds, 10 AK rifle magazines and 300 AK rounds, were seized from them.

2. A masked man robbed ₹5.23 lakh at gunpoint from a bank in Kishangarh town of Rajasthan’s Ajmer district. The incident happened at Adarsh Cooperative Bank when a man barged into the institution and forced the cashier to give him cash.

3. Enforcement Directorate (ED) opposed AAP leader Satyendar Jain’s bail plea, before the Delhi High Court, in a 2017 alleged money laundering case. Jain was arrested on May 30 last year for allegedly laundering money through four companies linked to him. The ED told the Delhi High Court that Jain was in “de facto control” of the companies involved.

4. An avalanche hit a hill slope near the Vishnuprayag hydro-electric project in Uttarakhand, officials said. While no damage to life and property was reported, a mass of snow slid down the mountainside close to 420 MW hydel project’s barrage site

1. OPEC’s Secretary General urged countries to invest much more in oil to meet the world’s future energy needs and said climate policies need to be more “balanced and fair.”
