1. President Smt Droupadi Murmu met President of Finland Alexander Stubb at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi yesterday. The President said, Mr. Stubb’s presence at the Raisina Dialogue is a matter of pride for India.

What is Raisina Dialogue?

3. West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose has resigned from his post ahead of the upcoming State Assembly elections. Mr Bose, was appointed as West Bengal governor in November 2022.
Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi has been appointed as the new Governor of West Bengal following the sudden resignation of CV Ananda Bose.
4. Ladakh’s Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta yesterday resigned from his post, eight months after assuming the office. Mr Gupta had taken the oath in July last year, becoming the third Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory.
Vinai Kumar Saxena, currently serving as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, has been appointed as the new Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh. Meanwhile, Kavinder Gupta has been reassigned as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
5. The Maharashtra government introduced an offline photo upload facility for e-crop registration, allowing farmers to capture crop images without internet. Photos will automatically upload when connectivity returns, helping farmers in remote areas complete registration easily.
6. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a Post-Budget Webinar on the theme ‘Agriculture and Rural Transformation’ this morning through video conferencing. Under this theme, eight different webinar sessions are being held covering four major sectors: Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Fisheries and Rural Livelihoods.

In Chhattisgarh, a Maoist was killed in an encounter between police and Maoists in the forest area along the Dantewada-Bijapur border. The killed Maoist has been identified as Rajesh Punem, an Area Committee Member of the Bhairamgarh Area Committee of Maoist organisation. A reward of five lakh rupees had been announced on him.

1. A major leak of hazardous oleum gas at a chemical manufacturing unit in Maharashtra’s Palghar district triggered panic and prompted authorities to evacuate more than 2,600 people as a precautionary measure. The incident occurred at a unit of Bhageria Industries Ltd located in the Boisar MIDC industrial area on the outskirts of Mumbai.
2. A massive wildfire has engulfed forest areas in Adibadri and Bartoli in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district, with panicked villagers accusing the forest department of ignoring the destruction that could trigger future ecological disasters.

1. Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders has officially confirmed the completion of Contract Negotiation Committee negotiations for a ₹99,000 crore defence contract with the Indian Navy.
2. The Ministry of Defence, on Tuesday, signed contracts worth a total of Rs 5,083 crore to acquire six Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) Mk-II (Maritime Role) for the Indian Coast Guard and Surface-to-Air Vertical Launch – Shtil missiles for the Indian Navy.
3. India has firmly dismissed as “baseless” a viral claim that the United States is utilising its naval ports to conduct strikes against Iran amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
4. The Indian Defence Procurement Board has fundamentally reshaped the nation’s aerial roadmap by sanctioning a dual-pronged acquisition strategy worth approximately ₹1,00,000 crore. This ambitious move targets the procurement of 60 medium transport aircraft alongside the formal approval of a home-grown unmanned combat aerial vehicle project.
6. Defence Procurement Board (DPB) of the Defence ministry has cleared the purchase of five new S-400 air-defence systems from Russia.
Three S-400 systems are with the Indian Air Force and two more are expected this year, in March and November respectively.
The S-400 missile system is a sophisticated air defense platform capable of engaging multiple aerial threats, including aircraft, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles, at ranges of 40 to 400 kilometers.
