1. Minister of State for Rural Development Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani yesterday reviewed the progress of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) in Andhra Pradesh.

2. The first batch of beneficiaries under the “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Yatra Scheme” of the Puducherry Government departed from the Union Territory to visit places associated with the life and legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation Limited (TNGECL) has issued a tender seeking developers for the setting up of 20 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar PV projects on government buildings across the state. The tender has been issued under the RESCO model on a net feed-in basis. Online bid submissions will begin on March 25, 2026, and close on 7 April 2026.

Bengaluru– Hyderabad Bullet Train to Link Cities in 2 Hours, 12 Stations Across 626 km Corridor: The proposed Bengaluru-Hyderabad Bullet Train, also known as the high-speed rail project, is gaining momentum after the Centre stepped up discussions with the Karnataka government on land acquisition and alignment planning.

1. The Bengaluru police have booked a case against those who took out a protest march in the city condemning the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

2. In Kerala, former Travancore Devaswom Board president A. Padmakumar, an accused in the Sabarimala gold misappropriation case, has been granted bail by the Kollam Vigilance Court. The court allowed bail on his statutory plea in connection with the second case against him in the Sabarimala issue.

3. Suspended Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabir, who was building a mosque modelled on Ayodhya’s Babri Masjid in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district, was accorded Y-Plus category security cover by the central government.

2. A violent clash in Ferozepur, resulted in the deaths of two people after a minor dispute between children during Holi celebrations escalated into gunfire, prompting a police investigation.

1. Indian Army Plans Strategic Acquisition of 300 Dhanush Howitzers to Equip 15 New Artillery Regiments, Boosting Long-Range Firepower. These indigenous weapon systems are intended to form the core of 15 newly established artillery regiments.

2. The Indian Army’s Spearhead Gunners conducted a high-intensity joint artillery firing exercise at Darranga in Assam, in collaboration with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Assam Rifles and Army Aviation. The exercise underscored India’s growing emphasis on integrated operational capability.

3. To Strengthen India’s maritime and air defense capabilities, the Ministry of Defense on March 03, 2026 signed contracts worth ₹5,083 crore. The agreements include procurement of six ALH Mk III (Maritime Role) helicopters for the Indian Coast Guard and VL Shtil Surface to Air missiles for the Indian Navy. The contracts were signed in the presence of Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh at South Block, New Delhi.

4. At least 87 people were killed after a US submarine sank an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean, The warship, IRIS Dena, had participated in a naval exercise in India just weeks ago. IRIS Dena, a Moudge class frigate, also came to India in 2024 to participate in the multilateral naval exercise MILAN, the same exercise’s 2026 edition from where it sailed home.

5. Indian Army and Ladakh Forest Department sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on World Wildlife Day 2026 to protect Snow Leopard and fragile high-altitude ecosystems in Ladakh.

6. The Commandant of Canadian Army staff college removed from his position. “This decision follows a loss of trust in (Col. Fraser Auld’s) ability to command,” states the Department of National Defence.

1. UltraTech Cement Limited has acquired a 26% equity stake in AMPIN C&I Power Forty Four Private Limited, a renewable energy company, through an Energy Supply Agreement as well as a Share Subscription and Shareholders’ Agreement.

Under the arrangement, AMPIN C&I Power Forty Four Private Limited, the special purpose vehicle (SPV), will develop a 45 MWp DC / 30 MW AC solar power project on a captive basis, along with battery storage, at Golamunda in the Kalahandi district of Odisha.

2. ACME Solar Holdings Limited has announced a major development in its renewable energy portfolio. The company, through its wholly owned subsidiary ACME Greentech Seventh Private Limited, has signed two Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with SJVN Limited.

The Madras High Court has passed an interim order restraining internet service providers and cable television operators from unlawfully broadcasting The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond, which released in theatres on February 28.

Accordingly, the High Court granted an ad interim injunction restraining unauthorised broadcast of the film until March 23, 2026.
