1. Supreme Court agrees to hear Friday plea seeking probe into Hindenburg Research report on Adani firms: Advocate Vishal Tiwari recently filed a Public Interest Litigation to the Supreme court to take up the case of the Adani-Hidenburg row. The apex court has agreed and will hear the case on Feb 10, 2023. Vishal is a practising lawyer in the Supreme Court.

What Is The Krishna Janmabhoomi Dispute?
According to 1968 settlement agreement between the Sri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sangh, the temple management authority, and Shahi Idgah Masjid Trust, Mathura.
The dispute pertains to ownership of 13.37 acresRBI cancelled the certification of registration of one non-banking finance company (NBFC), Balaji Instalments Ltd, on February 9. Following the cancellation, nine other NBFCs surrendered their licences to the RBI of land that the petitioners have claimed belongs to the deity Lord Krishna Virajman. The petitioners have sought removal of the 17th century Shahi Idgah Masjid from the premises of the Katra Keshav Dev temple, claiming that the mosque was built at the birthplace of Lord Krishna. The mosque was reportedly built on the orders of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in 1669-70.
3. CBI seized ₹42 lakh cash, expensive watches, jewellery and documents of assets worth crores during searches at the premises of a Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Assistant Commissioner in Gujarat’s Gandhidham in a disproportionate assets case. The official, Mahesh Chowdhary, has been booked for allegedly amassing illicit assets to the tune of ₹3.71 crore.
4. Police have arrested one person after large quantities of explosives were found in Rajasthan’s Dausa ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on February 12. About 1,000 kg of explosives, 65 detonators and 360 gelatin sticks, which are also used for explosions, were recovered.
5. Pro-Khalistani protestors allegedly attempted to kill a Chandigarh Police official and snatched a teargas handgun with its ammunition during a violent clash with police at the Chandigarh-Mohali border.

1. The Union Budget 2023 proposes a Tax Collection at Source (TCS) for foreign outward remittance under LRS (other than for Education and medical purpose) of 20% on the entire value.

Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) Chairman MR Kumar on Thursday said that they will soon call the Adani Group’s top management to understand issues surrounding the conglomerate. “We will call the top management to understand the issues and future plans for the situation,” Kumar said. LIC said its exposure to the Adani Group is 0.97% of its total assets under management.
4. Reserve Bank of India will conduct a 14-day variable rate repo auction for ₹50,000 crore on February 10. The variable rate repo auction is done to inject liquidity into the banking system when it turns negative or is in deficit. Currently, liquidity in the banking system is in a deficit of ₹11,172 crore, according to RBI’s money market operation data.
5. Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India found that Kerala government has failed to collect revenue arrears of ₹7,100.32 crore, outstanding for over five years.

India’s largest insurer Life Insurance Corporation of India’s (LIC) net profit for the December quarter rose to ₹8,334.19 crore as against ₹234.91 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, driven by strong growth. LIC’s net premium income grew by 14.5% to ₹1.11 lakh crore from ₹97,620 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.

The Indian Army’s field hospital set up in Turkey’s Hatay to provide relief to the earthquake-hit people has started functioning with running medical, surgical and emergency wards, an X-ray lab and a medical store. It has been set up under India’s ‘Operation Dost’. At least six planes were dispatched from India to Turkey since the earthquakes hit the country.
2. The indigenous Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile (QRSAM) being developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is set to be tested again with some changes suggested by Army. It’s Range is : 30 km
It is propelled by Single Stage Solid Rocket Motor. It can engage 6 targets simultaneously.
3. The registration process for Agniveer’s online exam will be conducted through Kolhapur’s Army Recruitment Office (ARO) and will begin February 10.
The process for army recruitment was changed recently according to which the candidates will first appear for the online exam and those securing 25% marks will be allowed to appear for the physical and medical tests.
4. The Ministry of Defence on February 8 inked a contract with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for the purchase of 41 indigenous modular bridges for the Corps of Engineers of the Indian Army, valued at over Rs 2,585 crore, providing a significant boost to the “Aatmanirbar Bharat” initiative.
