1. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu attended the valedictory ceremony of Antarrajyiya Jansanskritik Samagam Samaroh-Kartik Jatra in Gumla district of Jharkhand.
2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, India boarded the reform express this year and emerged as the centre of global attention. 7. Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu flagged off the inaugural flight of Dhruv NG civil variant helicopter in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) helicopter division in Bengaluru. The helicopter received civil certification from Directorate General of Civil Aviation for its indigenous Shakti engine.
8. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy snowfall over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad. The weather agency has issued orange alert for very dense fog over Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Chandigarh today.

1. Strict measures have been taken in Alappuzha district in Kerala to bring the avian flu situation under control. After samples sent to the National Institute of Virology, Pune, an emergency meeting was convened and containment measures were immediately initiated. Poultry within a one kilometer radius of the epicenter were ordered to be culled, and around 28 thousand birds were culled within two days.
2. Senior BJP leader and Home Minister Amit Shah has alleged that the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal prioritizes providing land for infiltrators over allocating land for border fencing. He alleged that development in the state has been stalled due to a culture of cut money, extortion, and communal appeasement.

Six people lost their lives in a bus accident at Vinayak area of Almora district in Uttarakhand yesterday. According to the State Disaster Response Force, the bus was traveling from Bhikiyasain to Ramnagar and had around 17 to 18 people on board. The injured are receiving treatment at the government hospital in Bhikiyasain.

1. The Defence Ministry signed contracts worth 4 thousand 666 crore rupees for the procurement of Close Quarter Battle Carbine and Heavy Weight Torpedoes in New Delhi. This includes a contract worth 2 thousand 770 crore rupees with Bharat Forge Ltd and PLR Systems Pvt Ltd. to procure over 4 lakhs Close Quarter Battle (CQB) Carbine.
The procurement of CQB Carbine will help to equip the Indian Army and the Indian Navy with world-class lethality, replacing legacy systems with cutting-edge indigenous technology under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.
2. India’s indigenous artillery capabilities received a major boost on Monday as the Defence Research and Development Organisation successfully conducted the maiden flight test of the Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket. The test, carried out from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Odisha.
3. In Jammu and Kashmir, security forces have been placed on high alert along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border ahead of New Year celebrations. The heightened vigilance aims to ensure robust border security and prevent any infiltration or ceasefire violations during the holiday period.
