1. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu has said, Viksit Bharat will be achieved not just by building strong economy but also by ensuring equal opportunities and life of dignity to poor people. The President was addressing the 15th convocation ceremony of National Institute of Technology (NIT) at Jamshedpur in Jharkhand yesterday.

President Droupadi Murmu also attended the Centenary celebrations of Ol Chiki script of Santhali Language at Dishom Jaherthan in Karandih area of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.

2. Vice President Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan said educated youth must embrace technology with enthusiasm and ethical responsibility in a rapidly changing world driven by artificial intelligence and digital innovation. Addressing the 30th convocation ceremony of Pondicherry University, the Vice President urged the graduates to become ambassadors of the National Education Policy 2020.

3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet eminent economists and sectoral experts on Tuesday to seek their views on the upcoming Budget.

4. Agriculture, Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, the Central Government has introduced a new law, Viksit Bharat-G Ram G, to address shortcomings and irregularities in the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), 2005.

*The Minister was speaking at the State-Level Kisan Diwas-2025 programme at Gauchar in Uttarakhand. He said, the guaranteed employment has been increased from 100 days to 125 days under the new law.

5. India will host the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi in February next year. The India AI Impact Summit will begin on the 15th of February and conclude on the 20th. Addressing a press conference on the event, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, S. Krishnan, said.

6. Home Minister Amit Shah has said, Assam and other northeastern states have witnessed tremendous development during the past 11 years. Mr Shah was speaking after inaugurating redeveloped Batadrava Than, the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardeva, in Nagaon district of Assam. The Home Minister launched multiple development projects during a daylong visit to the state.

7. Government has approved a new project to protect breeding habitats of sandbar-nesting birds, including the Indian Skimmer, for conservation of endangered bird species in the Ganga basin. The project was approved during the 68th meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) in New Delhi.

8. The Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin): Viksit Bharat – G RAM G Act is likely to make most of the states net gainers of 17 thousand crore rupees as compared to the average allocation of the last seven years. The Act has replaced the twenty-year-old Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005. According to a research report by the State Bank of India, (SBI), the act will improve overall fund distribution to states.

9. India’s Solar Installed Capacity has crossed over 130 Gigawatt in November this year. The New and Renewable Energy Ministry said that this year Solar energy capacity has raised up to 41 per cent as compared to last year, which was at over 94 GW.

10. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast very dense fog conditions in Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab for the next two days.

1. National Conference’s Member of Parliament Aga Ruhullah Mehdi was among political leaders who were placed under house arrest to prevent them from joining the students’ protest against the existing reservation policy in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

2. The Supreme Court has put a stay on its earlier judgement concerning the change in definition of Aravalli Hills. The court took suo motu cognisance of concerns surrounding the revised definition of the Aravalli range, amid mounting criticism from environmentalists over its potential impact on the fragile mountain ecosystem.

3. The Supreme Court also put a stay on the Delhi High Court’s order that had allowed suspension of the life sentence and granting bail to former Uttar Pradesh MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the Unnao rape case.

4. In the run-up to New Year’s celebrations, Delhi Traffic Police has intensified enforcement measures across the national capital to ensure road safety and prevent accidents caused by drunken driving. Senior officers are personally supervising enforcement activities, and additional forces have been deployed at vulnerable points.

5. A man-made forest created by Padma Shri awardee Jadav Payeng, known as ‘Forest Man of India’, was substantially damaged after miscreants set it on fire. The fire destroyed thousands of plants and killed insects and other small animals, while no human casualty was reported. An investigation has been ordered.

6. The people of northeastern states are Indians and not Chinese, Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi said on Monday as he condemned the killing of a Tripura student in Dehradun.

1. The defence acquisition council (DAC), chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has cleared proposals worth Rs 79,000 crore to buy radars, radios, automatic take-off landing recording systems and other equipment for its army, navy and air force, the defence ministry said.

2. The United States Embassy in India announced the delivery of the final batch of Boeing AH-64E Apache attack helicopters ordered so far by India. The three aircraft were flown into the country and handed over to the aviation branch of the Indian Army.

3. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Monday (December 29, 2025) successfully conducted the maiden flight test of the Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket (LRGR–120) at the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur.

4. India’s strategic submarine fleet continues to expand with the recent launch of its fourth nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine, codenamed S4*. This vessel marks a pivotal advancement in the nation’s sea-based nuclear deterrence. Launched on 16 October 2024 at the Ship Building Centre in Visakhapatnam.
