Bhubaneswar, 20 March 2021: Markandeshwar Hockey Academy, Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy and Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre earned victories on day four of the 1st Hockey India Sub Junior Women Academy National Championship 2021 here in Bhubaneswar today.

Markandeshwar Hockey Academy issued a fine response to their yesterday’s 0-9 setback with a comprehensive 26-0 win against Dhyan Chand Hockey Academy in the first match of the day. Kajal (4′, 9′, 9′, 12′, 31′, 46′, 47′, 49′, 60′) and Anjani (15′, 16′, 23′, 25′, 28′, 37′, 57′, 59′) put up a scintillating show as they scored nine and eight goals, respectively in Pool A match. Loveleen (32′, 39′) and Simran (41′, 50′) scored two goals each while Savita (14′), Sajiya (19′), Anjali (42′), Navroop Kaur (49′) and Captain Akta Rani (54′) contributed a goal each in what was a dominating win for Markandeshwar Hockey Academy.

In another Pool A match of the day, Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy beat Mumbai Schools Sports Association 6-0. Sweena Rani (38′, 56′, 60′) registered a hat-trick to her name while Gulnar Kaur (24′, 36′) bagged a brace in the second match of the day. Namneet Kaur (30′) also chipped in with a goal for Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy.

Riding high on confidence after a mammoth 42-0 win yesterday, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy continued their fine run of form as they registered a comprehensive 10-0 win against Jai Bharat Hockey Academy in the third match of the day. Captain Bhumiksha Sahu (6′,6′, 22′, 40′, 51′) bagged five goals while Krishna Sharma (16′), Swati (23′), Khushi Katariya (27′), Palak Gupta (38′), and Sneha Patel (50′) scored a goal each for Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy in Pool B encounter.

In the final match of the day, Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre eased past Olympian Vivek Singh Hockey Academy with a 5-0 win. Ashima Rout (3′, 9′, 24′, 33′, 43′) grabbed all five goals in what was her team’s third consecutive win of the tournament.
