1. NASA has lost contact with the Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution (MAVEN) spacecraft, which has been orbiting the Red Planet for over a decade. The space agency confirmed that the spacecraft abruptly stopped communicating with Earth after passing behind Mars, raising concerns about the status of one of its most important Martian science missions.
2. UNESCO has taken a major step towards protecting global cultural diversity by inscribing several endangered traditional arts and crafts on its List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding. The move draws attention to cultural practices that are at risk of disappearing and require immediate protection, documentation, and community support to survive for future generations.
