1. Recently, the Bombay High Court quashed the write-off of Additional Tier-1 (AT1) bonds worth Rs 8,400 crore issued by Yes Bank Ltd, bringing relief to investors.

These bonds are unsecured bonds that have perpetual tenors, are issued by banks and have no maturity date.

2. NATIONAL COAL INDEX, Coal Ministry Offered relaxation in the Revision of the Performance Bank Guarantee and extended Bid due date for the Commercial Coal Block auction up to January 30.

During the launching of the sixth-round commercial coal mines’ auction for 141 coal mines, the ministry of Coal decided to annually revise the Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) based on the National Coal Index (NCI) for April at the beginning of the year 2023.

3. Recently Central Government decided to give an additional ₹2,000 crore to States under the Special Assistance for Capital Investment scheme to incentivise them to scrap old vehicles and also provide tax concessions to individuals for it.

Under this Scheme, financial assistance is provided to the States Governments in the form of a 50-year interest free loan for capital investment projects.
