1. India and China have agreed to resume direct air services connecting designated points in both countries by late October.
2. The festival of Vijaya Dashami or Dussehra is being celebrated at Colombo with religious devotion. The Indian Cultural Association in Colombo in collaboration with Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre have made arrangements for the celebrations at Ganesh Temple Auditorium in Colombo.
3. India’s High Commission in Dhaka pays homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his 156th birth anniversary.
4. Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi of the Taliban government is all set to visit India on October 9. This will be the first high-level visit from Kabul to New Delhi since the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan in August 2021, marking a new chapter in India-Taliban engagement.
5. Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit India on December 5-6, 2025, for the 23rd annual India-Russia summit. This visit, if confirmed, will be Putin’s first to India since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in February 2022 .

1. Russia and Ukraine exchanged 185 prisoners of war each following an agreement reached during peace talks in Istanbul on July 23, the Russian Defence Ministry said. Additionally, 20 Russian civilians were returned from Ukrainian- controlled areas.

7. In Nepal, at least four people, including three children, died after being buried in a mudslide in Madhesh province.
8. US President Donald Trump has announced that he will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping in four weeks, with soybeans set to be a key focus of their discussions.
