1. The Election Commission releases final voter list with 7.42 crore names for Bihar Assembly Elections.

8. In Telangana, the celebrations of Bathukamma Festival, organised by the state Government, have set two new Guinness World Records last evening. The event has been held at the Saroornagar Stadium in Hyderabad. The two world records for its largest Bathukamma floral decoration consist of about seven tonnes of flowers and of 63.11 feet high, 11 feet wide. The second record for the highly synchronised performance by a large number of women, of 1354.
9. Union Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that a special team will be formed within the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to address challenges related to sugarcane cultivation in the country.
10. Union Minister for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh has said, India’s pharma exports are expected to cross 30 billion dollars rising from the current 27 billion dollars by this year.
11. The Maharashtra government has opened an exhibition of important documents related to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri at the Mulund area in Mumbai. State Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar urged citizens to see these valuable documents at the Maharashtra Seva Sangh, Pandit Nehru Road in Mulund (West). It will remain open till October 11.

1. Small Industries Development Bank of India (Sidbi) reported a 19.5% rise in net profit, reaching a record Rs 4,811 crore in FY25, with its balance sheet crossing Rs 5.6 lakh crore. The bank’s asset base grew 8.7%, and the loans portfolio increased 8.8%.

2. The Border Security Force (BSF) has launched a new AI and GIS-based Decision Support System (DSS) command centre to enhance border security on the Pakistan and Bangladesh borders.
3. Deputy Chief of the Indian Air Force, Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti, highlighted India’s ambitious goal to develop an indigenous aerospace engine within the next 10-12 years.He emphasised that this objective requires sustained efforts from both the defence sector and industry stakeholders.
4. The Indian Navy has signed a significant ₹47 crore contract with Kochi-based deep-tech start-up EyeROV for the procurement of advanced Underwater Remotely Operated Vehicles (UWROVs).
