1. Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan today held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitri Patrushev in New Delhi. During the meeting, both leaders discussed the mutual cooperation in the field of agriculture and food security, which will benefit farmers, consumers and citizens of both countries.
All delegation led by Commerce and Industries Minister Piyush Goyal was on a visit to the US from 22nd to 24th September.
2. India has reaffirmed its firm commitment to strengthening the effectiveness and impact of the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission (PBC), emphasising its readiness to engage constructively with international partners to advance global peace and development efforts.
3. India has once again highlighted its zero-tolerance approach to terrorism and emphasised the need for the world to come together in the fight against the menace in all its manifestations. The message was put across by Sibi George, Secretary (West) at the Ministry of External Affairs, while delivering India’s National Statement at the 6th Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends of Victims of Terrorism in New York.
4. US President Donald Trump met Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Washington. The meeting followed a trade deal between the US and Pakistan.
5. Deputy Prime Minister of Italy, Antonio Tajani, has confirmed his country’s support for the early conclusion of the Free Trade Agreement between India and the European Union.
6. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar participated in the G4 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80) in New York.The G4 group, comprising India, Japan, Germany, and Brazil, strongly reiterated its commitment to reforming the United Nations, particularly focusing on expanding and reforming the UN Security Council.
