1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 49th PRAGATI meeting to review eight critical infrastructure projects across Mines, Railways, Water Resources, Industrial Corridors, and Power sectors, spanning 15 States and UTs with a combined investment of over ₹65,000 crore.

3. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by PM Narendra Modi, has approved the construction of a 4-lane Sahebganj-Areraj-Bettiah section of NH-139W in Bihar on Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM). The 78.942 km project, worth ₹3,822.31 crore, will improve connectivity between Patna and Bettiah.
4. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by PM Narendra Modi, has also approved the doubling of the Bakhtiyarpur – Rajgir – Tilaiya railway line (104 km) in Bihar with an estimated cost of ₹2,192 crore

This ₹1,000-crore initiative focuses on expanding technology ecosystems beyond Bengaluru to Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns. The government aims to build infrastructure, provide mentorship, and enhance market access for entrepreneurs over the next five years.

10. Telangana government initiative for women entrepreneurs, WE Hub, has rolled out the first cohort of the RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) women acceleration programme in Hyderabad. The effort is a World Bank-assisted initiative supported by the Union Ministry of MSME. The cohort comprises 45 women-led micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from 13 districts of Telangana that were selected from 300 over two years, through extensive outreach boot-camps in districts.
11. Telangana government has agreed to take over Phase-I of Hyderabad Metro Rail project from L&T Group by paying Rs 2,000 crore for the equity in the concessionaire L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Ltd.

1. Telangana High Court grants relief to IAS officer Smita Sabharwal in Kaleshwaram case. The Telangana High Court has adjourned the next hearing to 7 October.
2. The Central Government on Thursday (September 25, 2025) assured the Delhi High Court that “appropriate” residential accommodation would be allotted to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal within 10 days.
3. In Ladakh, Kargil observed a complete shutdown on the call of the Kargil Democratic Alliance in support of its four-point agenda, with the demand for inclusion of Ladakh under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution as the main issue. Shops, markets, transport and business establishments remained closed, bringing life to a standstill across the district.
4. Karnataka high court on Thursday declined to stop the state’s socio-economic and educational survey, widely referred to as the caste survey, but directed the state government to maintain confidentiality of the collected data and ensure voluntary participation.
5. Kerala high court was on Thursday told that Booker Prize winner Arundhati Roy’s book — Mother Mary Come to Me — has a disclaimer against smoking on the back of its cover. The hearing was adjourned to October 7.
6. The Sikkim government has announced that Dok-La and Cho-La will be opened for domestic tourists from the 1st of next month under Battlefield Tourism. The state government has issued guidelines for security and environmental protection in this regard. The order said that daily, 25 tourist vehicles and 25 bikers will be allowed to visit both places.

2. Senior IAS officer Beela Venkatesan, who was serving as the Principal Secretary of Tamil Nadu government’s Energy Department, passed away at her residence in Chennai on Wednesday (September 24, 2025). She was 55.
3. Renowned Kannada writer Dr. S. L. Bhyrappa passed away in Bengaluru at the age of 94 due to cardiac arrest.
A prolific author of over 25 novels including classics like Vamshavruksha, Daatu, Parva, and Aavarana, his works sparked intellectual debate and were widely translated.

1. Days after GST 2.0 reforms, the Centre on Wednesday announced a performance-linked bonus for the employees of the Indian Railways. The Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) of 78 days for Rs 1865.68 crore will benefit the 10,91,146 railway employees.
2. The Indian government has restricted silver and unstudded jewellery imports till March 31, 2026, following a surge in imports, especially from Thailand, raising concerns of duty evasion under the Asean-India Trade Agreement.
3. The Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) was launched by Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman to provide a unified, independent forum for resolving GST disputes efficiently across India.
GSTAT aims for jargon-free decisions, digital-by-default filings, and time-bound hearings to reduce litigation delays and improve ease of doing business, especially benefiting MSMEs and exporters.
4. The Government has partnered with quick commerce platform Zepto to boost employment opportunities and youth employability via the National Career Service (NCS) Portal. The Ministry of Labour and Employment signed an MoU in the presence of Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya.

1. The Central Government has extended the tenure of General Anil Chauhan as Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) till May 30, 2026, ensuring continuity and stability in India’s military leadership.
Appointed as CDS in September 2022, Chauhan — also Secretary of the Department of Military Affairs (DMA) — has been pivotal in advancing theatre commands, tri-service integration, and defence modernization.
2. The Indian Navy is set to commission its second Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC), named Androth, at the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam on 6 October 2025.
3. India is set to conduct its largest joint military exercise focused on drones and counter-drone systems in early October 2025. The exercise, named Cold Start, will involve the Army, Navy, and Air Force. It aims to test operational readiness against new aerial threats. Madhya Pradesh is the likely venue. The drill will assess strengths and weaknesses in India’s air defence capabilities.
