2. The US State Department has issued a detailed clarification on President Donald Trump’s recent H-1B visa proclamation after widespread confusion and anxiety among Indian professionals and the global tech industry.
The clarification stressed that the new rule, which imposes a $100,000 fee on all fresh H-1B petitions filed after September 21, 2025—including lottery submissions for 2026—does not impact existing visa holders or petitions already submitted.

Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL), India’s leading state-owned armoured vehicle manufacturer, is in advanced negotiations with Nigeria and Tanzania for the potential export of around 40 upgraded BMP-2 amphibious infantry fighting vehicles.This deal underscores India’s growing footprint in Africa’s defence markets.

The Government of India and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a 125 million dollar loan agreement to enhance urban livability and bolster climate resilience in six district headquarters and Guwahati, in the State of Assam. The project will benefit 3 Lakh 60 thousand residents of Assam by delivering a continuous metered water supply and upgrading storm water management systems.
6. India has achieved a historic milestone by securing exclusive rights for Polymetallic Sulphides (PMS) exploration in the Carlsberg Ridge of the Indian Ocean, becoming the first country to hold two PMS exploration contracts with the International Seabed Authority (ISA).
