Priyanka Mohan, who has appeared in the blockbuster OG with Pawan Kalyan, has condemned the deluge of negativity that has been addressed to her online. In a blunt post, she accused the trolling as not being spontaneous but rather as being a part of a sponsored, planned campaign to troll her on social media.
“Not Random Hate”
Writing to fans, Priyanka indicated that some people were paying to post negative comments and hashtags against her. “When you are seeing the same type of post being posted repeatedly again and again, then you know it is not random. Someone is definitely paying for it,” she posted.
Standing Tall Against Negativity
In spite of being harassed, the actor maintained that she would not allow trolls to disrupt her peace of mind. “I’ve learned to use this as proof that I must be doing something right. If people are investing so much effort to try and bring me down, it makes me even stronger,” she continued.
Fans Rally in Support
Soon after, Mohan’s followers overwhelmed her feed with supportive messages, condemning the vile practice of online shaming. Numerous voices appreciated her for speaking out, highlighting that actresses receive more persistent trolling compared to their male peers in the film industry.
A Wider Problem in the Film Industry
Industry observers point out that such coordinated online abuse is not new. Various artists in Tollywood and Bollywood have previously made veiled suggestions about similar experiences, pointing to fan wars, rivalries, or vested interests being the primary drivers for such campaigns.
Priyanka’s Future Work
Meanwhile, Priyanka Mohan continues to focus on her career. After the success of OG, she has been flooded with offers and is reportedly in talks for multiple big-ticket projects across Telugu and Tamil cinema. “I’d rather let my work speak than waste time answering negativity,” she signed off.
