Hockey Haryana, Hockey Jharkhand and Hockey Punjab registered comfortable wins on day three of the 11th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2021 here in Simdega today. Hockey Chandigarh recovered well after going 0-2 down against Hockey Bihar to level scores late in the match.
In Pool A, Hockey Haryana’s attackers were once again in fine form as they defeated Hockey Uttarakhand by a comprehensive 19-0 margin. The defending champions hit 30 goals on the opening day of the 11th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2021. Tamanna Yadav (4’,18’,19’, 35’, 51’) bagged five goals whereas Kanika Siwach (19’, 40, 48’), Bhateri (27’, 28’, 50’) and Sejal (17’, 53’, 53’) scored three goals each. Sakshi Rana (23’, 58’) and Saavi (15’, 58’) found the net twice while Manisha (12’) scored once.
In Pool D, Hockey Chandigarh made a late comeback against Hockey Bihar to earn a 2-2 draw. Chamma Kumari (15’) and Shanti Kumari (35’) had given Hockey Bihar a 2-0 lead going into the fourth quarter. Hockey Chandigarh snatched a point courtesy of goals from Vedangi Vyas (50’) and Amrit Kaur (58’).
In Pool F, Hockey Punjab defeated Hockey Madhya Pradesh 6-1 with Gurjeet Kaur (23’, 46’, 51’) completing a hat-trick and Captain Sukhveer Kaur (1’, 9’) scoring twice. Jaisikdeep Kaur (47’) scored one goal. Kritika Singh (9’) earned a consolation goal for Hockey Madhya Pradesh.
In Pool B, Hockey Jharkhand marched to a 10-0 win against Hockey Maharashtra in what was the final match of the day. Fulmani Bhengra (2’,13’, 38’), Nirali Kujur (24’) Edlin Bage (28’), Purnima Barwa (23’, 42’) Binima Dhan (38’), Sweety Dungdung (25’) & Anupriya Soreng (59’) were on target for the hosts.
Pool matches between Hockey Odisha & Hockey Himachal and Uttar Pradesh Hockey & Assam Hockey were forfeited.
