Actor Tanushree Dutta, who has been out of films for some time but keeps making it to the headlines with her vocal opinions, has recently come out with the news that she was approached to participate in reality show Bigg Boss. The makers, she said, were willing to pay her a staggering ₹1.65 crore to feature on the show, but she refused, mentioning that the nature of the program doesn’t go with her beliefs and lifestyle.

The actor also decried the reality television culture, stating that most of these programs encourage participants to sell out on personal pride in order to get fame and easy money. She said it does not appeal to her to deliberately cause conflicts and sensational scenes just to gain viewership. “It’s simple to be lured by large sums of money, but I don’t want to exchange my self-respect for it,” she stated.
