2. India’s Lakshya Sen has defeated compatriot Ayush Shetty in a three-game thriller to make it to the semifinals of the Hong Kong open badminton tournament.
Sen came up trumps to win the match 21-16, 17-21, 21-13.
(b) Meanwhile, in the men’s doubles, India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have clinched a spot in the semifinals. The top ranked Indian duo defeated Malaysia’s Arif Junaidi and Roy Yap 21-14, 20-22, 21-16. In the semifinal, they will face Chen Cheng Kuan and LIN Bing-Wei of Chinese Taipei.
3. Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said that every street in Bharat should become a sporting arena and every podium should witness Bharat’s flag flying high.
