1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announces financial assistance of Twelve hundred crore rupees for flood affected Uttarakhand; Assess damages caused by cloudbursts, rains and landslides in affected areas during review meeting in Dehradun.
2. The Cabinet, chaired by PM Narendra Modi, has approved the doubling of the Bhagalpur–Dumka–Rampurhat railway line (177 km) across Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal at a cost of Rs. 3,169 crore, aiming to boost rail capacity, reduce congestion, and improve connectivity to key destinations like Deoghar and Tarapith.
3. The Cabinet has approved the construction of an 82.4 km, 4-lane greenfield access-controlled Mokama–Munger section of the Buxar–Bhagalpur High-Speed Corridor in Bihar, under Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) with an outlay of Rs. 4,447.38 crore.
4. Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurated the state-of-the-art Central Power Research Institute’s Regional Testing Laboratory (RTL) at Nashik, a facility set to provide advanced testing services for electrical and power equipment like transformers and smart meters.

7. India has recently licensed multiple pharmaceutical companies to manufacture and commercialise its first indigenous multi-stage malaria vaccine. Developed by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and its partners, the vaccine targets the malaria parasite before it enters the bloodstream.
8. The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) introduced two key schemes in 2025 to expand social security coverage and ease compliance for industries. These initiatives aim to bring more workers under the social security net and reduce legal disputes between employers and employees. The SPREE-2025 and AMNESTY Scheme-2025 together represent a strategic move to promote voluntary registration and resolve pending disputes in the ESIC framework.
9. Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari today hailed the sugar industry, calling it the backbone of the country. Attending the 3rd edition of India Sugar and Bio-Energy Conference along with Union Consumer Affair Minister Prahlad Joshi, Mr Gadkari said that India’s Bioenergy sector has become a major player through its 20 percent ethanol blending.

1. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday hailed the IASV Triveni all-women circumnavigation expedition as a historic moment in India’s history, which will be remembered by future generations with pride. He virtually flagged off the ‘Samudri Pradakshina’ expedition, the first-ever tri-services all-women crew, comprising 10 women officers from the Army, Navy and Air Force, embarking on a circumnavigation mission onboard the Indian Army Sailing Vessel (IASV) Triveni from the historic Gateway of India in Mumbai.
2. The Indian Army’s Western Command has been at the forefront of extensive Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) missions in flood-affected regions of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir. Since mid-August 2025, the Army has executed 82 relief missions, evacuating over 6,000 people and delivering essential supplies to devastated communities.
3. The Indian Army successfully conducted Exercise Siyom Prahar from September 8 to 10, 2025, a major field training exercise aimed at validating the employment of drone technology in modern tactical operations.

5. Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd on Wednesday (September 10) said it has begun negotiations with the Indian Navy for the long-delayed submarine programme Project P-75(I).
The move comes after the Ministry of Defence granted approval in August for the state-run shipbuilder to start cost talks with Germany’s Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems to build six conventional submarines, in a deal valued at nearly ₹70,000 crore.
