WHO IS PARASHURAM?

Parashurama literally means “Rama with the axe” (from Parashu = axe, Rama = his name).
He is considered the 6th avatar of Bhagwaan Vishnu (in Dashavatars).
He is both a Brahmin (sage by birth) and a Kshatriya-like warrior (because of his martial powers), often described as a Brahma-Kshatriya.
Father: Sage Jamadagni (a descendant of Sage Bhrigu).
Mother: Renuka.
Famous for his war against the Kshatriyas: The legends say he annihilated the Kshatriya class 21 times to rid the world of their arrogance and restore balance.
He is the teacher of great warriors like Bhishma, Drona, and Karna. It is believed that he is still live on earth, meditating, and will reappear at the time of Kalki Avatar at the end of Kaliyug.
