1. India and Nepal have reaffirmed their commitment to deepen bilateral cooperation and partnership. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who reached Nepal on a two-day official visit, held a series of high-level meetings in Kathmandu.
2. Chinese Foreign Minister and Member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China Wang Yi will be on a two day visit to India from today.
3. India reached a new milestone in ocean exploration in August 2025. Two Indian aquanauts descended to depths of 4,025 and 5,002 metres in the Atlantic Ocean. This achievement places India among fewer than six nations to explore such extreme ocean depths. The expedition was part of an Indo-French collaboration using the French submersible Nautile. It sets the stage for India’s upcoming Samudrayan Mission, which aims to reach 6,000 metres using the indigenous submersible MATSYA-6000 by 2027.

1. Several European leaders to join President Volodymyr Zelensky for his meeting with US President Donald Trump at White House over Russia-Ukraine conflict.
2. In Sudan, at least 31 people were killed in an attack by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the Abu Shouk displacement camp in El Fasher, in western region. Thirteen others were injured in the assault, which involved artillery shelling.
3. In a tragic incident, former beauty queen Kseniya Alexandrova died after a peculiar car accident involving an elk. The accident occurred while she was returning home with her husband from Rezhev, a village in Russia.
4. Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman has said that Bangladesh is a country of people of all religions and communities.
All citizens living in Bangladesh are equal, irrespective of their religion or region. He said this while addressing the Hindu devotees gathered on the occasion of the inauguration of the Janmashtami rally at Dhaka’s Dhakeshwari temple.
