1. The logo and Mascot of the first-ever Khelo India Water Sports Festival (KIWSF) were unveiled in Srinagar yesterday. The Himalayan Kingfisher, will be the mascot for the Games while logo captures the essence of Kashmir, featuring a Shikara gliding on Dal Lake, framed by snow-capped mountains and pine trees.
2. The Indian sporting community has lauded the National Sports Governance Bill 2025 and the National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill 2025, which were passed by the Parliament recently. Athletes, coaches, sports administrators and more have hailed it as a long-overdue reform to bring good governance and protect athlete interests.
3. Indian Olympic Association, IOA formally approved India’s bid to host the Commonwealth Games in 2030 in its Special General Meeting in Delhi.
The Commonwealth Games is a quadrennial international multi-sport event that brings together athletes from across the Commonwealth of Nations, a political association comprising the majority of former territories of the British Empire. First held as the British Empire Games in 1930.
The 2010 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XIX Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Delhi 2010.
