What if I pay no heed to black plastics
on the roadside?

What if I only thought of myself
as an end not a means?

What if I had Mercedes on my doorstep?
What if I felt nothing and chased some
or the other thing fondly?

Will I still be content at the end of the night?
Will I still receive smiles and greetings
from strangers?
Will I still have an alive conscience?
Will I still be God’s child?
