1. Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned for the day. The Rajya Sabha was adjourned as mark of respect after paying tributes to Senior Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader and sitting MP Shibu Soren who passed away in New Delhi.
2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new building of the Central Vista on August 6. The new building, named ‘Kartavya Bhawan’, will house the offices of the Union Home Ministry, and the Department of Personnel & Training among others.
3. PM Modi’s flagship initiative, Pariksha Pe Charcha has been conferred with the Guinness World Record for the ‘Most people registered on a Citizen Engagement Platform in one month’. This recognition is a testament of achievement made with three crore 53 lakh registrations during the eight editions of the programme, hosted on the MyGov platform.

Nadda presented the award to representatives of the state’s Jeevandan programme recently.
10. The monsoon session of the Delhi Assembly began yesterday afternoon. The five-day session is expected to discuss several issues. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is likely to table two key Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports – one on state finances for the financial year 2023-24, and the other on the Welfare of Building and Other Construction Workers for the year ending 31 March 2023.

As of July 2025, 368 units with 4,611 beds have been set up across highways, offering dormitories, dhabas, clean toilets, bathing areas and cooking.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is planning to launch its first LVM3 rocket equipped with a semi-cryogenic propulsion stage in 2027.The LVM3, also known as the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle MK-III (GSLV MK-III), is currently a three-stage heavy-lift launch vehicle that had its first experimental flight in December 2014.
16. In Bihar, Pratyay Amrit, a 1989 batch Indian Administrative Service officer, will be the new Chief Secretary. He will assume charge on the 1st of next month. Pratyay Amrit will replace the current Chief Secretary of Bihar, Amrit Lal Meena, who is set to retire on 31 this month.

1. In Punjab, a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Mohali sentenced five retired Punjab Police officers to life imprisonment in over three decades old case of fake encounter of seven youths in Tarn Taran in 1993. The case was registered by the CBI on 30 June, 1999.
2. In Telangana, the Justice PC Ghose Commission has held former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao directly and indirectly responsible for irregularities in planning, execution, operation and maintenance of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project in the state.
3. The Supreme Court of India on August 4, 2025, strongly rebuked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over remarks he made about the Indian Army during his Bharat Jodo Yatra in December 2022.Gandhi had asserted that Chinese troops were “thrashing” Indian soldiers in Arunachal Pradesh and claimed that China had occupied 2,000 square kilometers of Indian territory.

1. 1. Indian Army has joined hands with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras to establish ‘Agnishodh’, the Indian Army Research Cell (IARC) on the IIT Madras campus. The research facility was formally inaugurated today by General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), during his two-day visit to Chennai.
2. Indian Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Kwatra, engaged in significant discussions with members of the Indian diaspora, highlighting key developments aimed at enhancing consular services for Indians residing across the US.
