Delhi MCD Election 2022

1. Nation observed Indian Navy Day on 4th December. Indian Navy Day is observed to commemorate the attack and to pay tribute to all Navy personnel who sacrificed their lives while serving the country.

2. The first G20 Sherpa Meeting under India’s Presidency, began in the lake city of Udaipur in Rajasthan on Sunday evening.

3. President Droupadi Murmu said that India would become ‘vishwa guru’ (global leader) by the time it celebrated the centenary of its independence in 2047.

4. The Centre will convene an all-party meet on December 5 to discuss strategies for the G20 summit. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi invited presidents of nearly 40 parties. PM Narendra Modi will meet heads of all major political parties and brief them about the activities planned leading up to the marquee summit of G20.

5. Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has approved the proposals for setting up new 100 bedded Hospital at Shyamlibazar at Agartala of Tripura and 100 bedded ESIC Hospital at Idukki in Kerala.

6. PM Modi will inaugurate the two-day National office bearers’ meeting of BJP at the Party Headquarters in New Delhi on Monday.

11. Ladakh is all set to have India’s first Dark Night Sky Reserve at Hanle village in Changthang region. In about eighteen locations in Hanley, powerful telescopes will be installed for stargazing.

12. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has announced that the state will establish a separate Divyang department for the welfare of differently-abled persons with a fund allocation of 1,143 crore rupees.

13. Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar has urged Odisha government to implement Ayushman Bharat Yojana in the state for the greater benefit of the people.

14. The winter session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly will commence on December 5 during which the state government will present its supplementary budget for 2022-23.

15. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann announced that the Military Literature Festival (MLF) will be hosted at district and university levels across the state to bring nationalism amongst youth & inspiring them to join the armed forces.

16. Delhi MCD Election 2022: Only about 50% voted in civic body poll. The main rivals BJP and AAP claimed victory in the high-stakes contest. No major glitches in electronic voting machines were reported. The voting passed off peacefully.

CRIME REPORT

1. The State Investigation Agency (SIA), a special cell of the J&K Police, on Saturday continued with its crackdown on “networks of militant outfits” and raided multiple locations across the Kashmir Valley & recovered ₹29 lakh during the raids.

2. The J&K BJP has demanded a probe into the leak of a list of Kashmiri Pandit employees posted in Kashmir Valley which was circulated on social media.

3. Gujarat government has told the Supreme Court that freedom of religion does not include the right to convert others, and requested the top court to vacate a high court stay on the provision of a state law that mandates prior permission of the district magistrate for conversion through marriage.

1. The government is planning to launch a production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme worth ₹3,500 crore for both traditional and mechanical toys sector.

2. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Deputy Governor T Rabi Sankar said the central bank’s experiments with the retail and wholesale digital rupee have been rewarding so far. He said RBI launched the pilot for retail Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) to deal with the threat posed by private currencies.

3. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will inaugurate the two-day long 65th Foundation Day celebration of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in New Delhi.

Mathrubhumi Printing and Publishing Ltd had filed a copyright case against Hombale Films over the use of the song in the film.

3. Ajay Devgn-starrer ‘Drishyam 2’ has earned around ₹176 crore at the domestic box office. The film collected ₹8.45 crore and ₹4.45 crore on Saturday and Friday, respectively. ‘
