1. Countdown begins for launch of first Indo-US joint earth observation satellite NISAR mission from Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota today.
2. President Smt Droupadi Murmu will be on a three-day visit to West Bengal and Jharkhand beginning today. During her visit to West Bengal, President Murmu will grace the first convocation ceremony of AIIMS, Kalyani in West Bengal.
In Jharkhand, the President will attend the first convocation ceremony of AIIMS Deoghar. Later, she will attend the 45th convocation ceremony of IIT (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad.

1. India’s inflation rate remains below the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) 4 per cent target in 2025. The Finance Ministry’s June Economic Review projects inflation will undershoot the 3.7 per cent forecast for the fiscal year 2025-26 (FY26). This creates scope for the RBI to continue easing monetary policy.
2. The Reserve Bank on Tuesday issued relaxed final norms for investment in Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) capping collective contribution by all lenders in a single AIF scheme to 20 per cent of the corpus of that AIF compared to 15 per cent in the draft norms.

1. The Indian Army recently conducted Exercise Drone Prahar in Arunachal Pradesh’s East Siang district. This high-tech military drill validated the use of drone technology in tactical battlefield scenarios. The exercise demonstrated the effective application of drones for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and precision targeting under realistic operational conditions.
2. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi has embarked on a four-day official visit to Japan. During the visit, the Chief of the Naval Staff is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with senior Japanese government officials.
3. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted two consecutive successful flight tests of the Pralay missile on the 28th and 29th of July from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha. The tests validated the missile’s maximum and minimum range capability with pinpoint accuracy.
4. The special discussion on Operation Sindoor resumed in the Lok Sabha yesterday. The discussion on India’s strong, successful and decisive Operation in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam was initiated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has conducted two consecutive successful flight tests of the Pralay missile from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha on July 28 and 29, 2025, as part of user evaluation trials to validate the missile system’s maximum and minimum range capabilities.
6. In Jammu & Kashmir, three unidentified terrorists were killed in a fierce encounter in the upper reaches of Lidwas Mulnaar forests in Harwan area in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district. The area is in the outskirts of Srinagar city.
