1. Prime Minister Modi and Maldivian President inaugurated the new 11-story Ministry of Defense building in Maldives, constructed with Indian assistance.
2. Foreign medical graduates working in Telangana state demand equal pay and recognition. Hundreds of Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) working as interns/house surgeons across Telangana’s government and private hospitals have raised concerns over persistent disparities in stipend, recognition and working conditions.
3. National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) India with support from the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, hosted the second edition of World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Intelligence & Investigations (I&I) Workshop from 21 to 25 July 2025 in New Delhi. The event, organized under the aegis of WADA and in partnership with INTERPOL and Sport Integrity Australia, was attended by representatives from National Anti- Doping Organizations (NADOs) and law enforcement agencies from India, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Nepal, Myanmar, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, and Philippines.
4. During PM Modi’s visit to the UK, he spoke about six prominent UK universities which have committed to opening campuses in India, marking a major step in deepening education ties and supporting NEP 2020.

5. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will soon redeploy a team of commandos to Libya to protect the Indian embassy in the African nation’s capital Tripoli, CRPF Director General Gyandendra Pratap Singh announced on Sunday. The embassy had reopened in July 2024 after being shut for five years due to civil unrest in the country.
6. The 15th Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands (COP15) took place from 23 to 31 July 2025 in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Over 3,000 delegates from 172 countries gathered to address the accelerating loss of wetlands worldwide.
7. NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar), an Earth observation satellite jointly developed by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has moved a step closer to launch with the GSLV-F16 that will carry the satellite, safely positioned on the second launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC-SHAR) in Sriharikota.
(a) According to ISRO, the launch is scheduled at 5:40 p.m. IST on July 30, 2025. The GSLV-F16 will carry the 2,392 kg satellite into a 743-km, Sun-synchronous orbit with an inclination of 98.40 degrees.
(b) NISAR is the first Earth observation satellite to use dual-frequency synthetic aperture radar systems, L-band (from NASA) and S-band (from ISRO). Both radars are mounted on a 12-meter deployable mesh reflector supplied by NASA and integrated onto ISRO’s modified I3K satellite platform. The satellite will monitor changes in the Earth’s surface, including ground deformation, ice sheet movement and vegetation patterns.

1. Israel announces 10-hour military pause in three designated areas of Gaza to facilitate humanitarian aid access.
2. Japanese weather officials have warned that extreme heat is likely to continue across the country. They said, temperatures may reach 38°C or higher in the Kinki region. In Toyooka City, it could hit 39°C. Kyoto City is also forecast to reach 38°C.
3. Australia and the United Kingdom (UK) have signed a 50-year commitment to the AUKUS defence treaty despite the United States’ ongoing review of the pact. Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles and UK Defence Secretary John Healey signed the bilateral Nuclear-Powered Submarine Partnership and Collaboration Treaty (the Geelong Treaty) at their meeting in Geelong, Victoria.
4. In Sudan, a coalition led by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has announced formation of a parallel government led by its General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemedti. The RSF and its allies had signed a transitional constitution in March outlining a federal, secular state divided into eight regions.
5. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed deep concern over the recent armed clashes along the Cambodia-Thailand border, urging both nations to agree to an immediate ceasefire and resolve their disputes through dialogue.
6. In the US, at least 11 people were injured in a stabbing incident at a Walmart store in Traverse City of Michigan.
