1. PM Modi holds bilateral talks with Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu Male; Both countries sign four MoUs and three agreements in various fields.

2. India extends 4,850 Crore rupees Line of Credit to Maldives. Prime Minister Modi emphasized that peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indian Ocean region is a shared goal. He announced that both nations will work together to strengthen regional maritime security at the Colombo Security Conclave.

3. Industry leaders are hailing the signing of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) as a transformative step. The Engineering Export Promotion Council India, EEPC India, has welcomed the signing of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement.

4. Clashes continue along Thailand-Cambodia border as both sides exchange fire; Indian Embassy in Thailand issues travel advisory for tourists.

5. In Gujarat, as many as 185 people were granted Indian citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) at a programme held in Rajkot. Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi handed over citizenship certificates to the recipients, who were people displaced from Pakistan and settled in the districts of Kutch, Morbi, and Rajkot.

1. 14 Thai nationals have been killed and 46 others injured in military clashes near the Thailand-Cambodia border.

2. Talks between Iran and the UK, France and Germany, known collectively as the E3 countries, concluded in Istanbul.

3. French President Emmanuel Macron said that France will officially recognise a Palestinian state during the United Nations General Assembly in September.

4. Heavy rains and storms hit the Philippines, causing floods and landslides that have killed at least 12 people and forced over 2.7 million from their homes. The storms began with Tropical Storm Wipha and were worsened by the southwest monsoon.

5. Brazil is preparing to formally join South Africa’s case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza. The case, filed in 2023, alleges that Israel’s military actions extend beyond targeting Hamas militants and involve attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.
