1. FIFA World Cup 2022:

JAPAN verses COSTA RICA
After crashing to a 0-7 defeat vs Spain in their opener, Costa Rica bounced back to winning ways with a 1-0 victory vs Japan in their Group E FIFA World Cup 2022 fixture, at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Qatar on Sunday.

BELGIUM verses MOROCCO
Goals from Abdelhamid Sabiri and Abdelhamid Sabir guided Morocco to a famous win over Belgium in Qatar. With the 2-0 defeat at the hands of Morocco, the Red Devils have failed to secure an early berth in the knockout round of the FIFA World Cup.

CROATIA verses CANADA
Andrej Kramaric scored twice as Croatia came from a goal down to hammer Canada 4-1 in a Group F match. With the defeat, Canada crashed out of the Round of 16 race, having also their first game to Belgium.

Germany vs Spain
Subsitutes Alvaro Morata and Niclas Fullkrug scored for Spain and Germany respectively as the two football heavyweights played out a 1-1 draw.

2. The second ODI between India and New Zealand has been called off due to rain at Seddon Park in Hamilton. India were 89 for loss of one wicket in the 13th over when play was stopped for the second time due to rain.

4. In boxing, reigning Asian champion Ravina won gold in her final bout as India ended the Youth Men’s and Women’s World Championships with 11 medals in La Nucia, Spain. In the 63kg category final, the Indian pugilist beat Megan deCler of Netherlands 4-3 by split decision after the bout was reviewed.

5. The Madras Boat Club women lift Adyar trophy at the 81st Annual Madras-Colombo Rowing Regatta at Colombo.

6. Former Indian sprinter PT Usha is set to become the first woman president of Indian Olympic Association (IOA) after emerging as the lone candidate for the top post for the December 10 elections. She will also become the first Olympian and first international medallist to head the IOA in its 95-year-old history

7. YOUTH WORLD BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP 2022 : Indian women pugilists won a total of eight medals which includes 2 Gold in La Nucia, Spain.

Overall, India ended their campaign at this year’s tournament with four gold, three silver and four bronze medals on Saturday.
