CRIME REPORT

1. A speeding car ran over more than 12 labourers while they were working on a highway in Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. While four labourers were killed, 13 others, including the car’s five occupants, were injured.

2. Punjab Police conducted a special cordon-and-search operation to check anti-social elements and drug smuggling in the state yesterday.

3. Tamil Nadu Police conducted searches for three hours at the houses of four people, who were allegedly suspected to be Islamic State (ISIS) sympathisers, in Chennai on Tuesday morning. Police seized cash worth ₹15 lakh and 150 mobile phones and other digital gadgets during the searches.

1. In Sensex pack, 20 companies posted gains while 10 logged losses. Power Grid was the top gainer as it added 2.2 percent followed by ICICI Bank which surged 1.9 percent. Bharti Airtel and Dr. Reddy’s Lab both, added 1.6 percent each.

Bajaj Finserv declined 0.8 percent, ITC fell 0.6 percent, Kotak Bank slipped 0.5 percent and Reliance ended 0.4 percent down.

BSE, 14 sectors logged gains while six logged losses. Oil & Gas index climbed one percent. Telecom and Auto both, gained 0.8 percent each. Bankex sector added 0.7 percent.

2. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed monetary penalties on 9 cooperative banks on account of various contraventions or non-compliances of laid down guidelines.

These banks are The Berhampur Cooperative Urban Bank, The Kendrapara Urban Co-operative Bank, The Jamshedpur Urban Cooperative Bank, Krishna Mercantile Co-operative Bank, Renuka Nagarik Sahakari Bank Maryadit, Jila Sahakari Kendriya Bank Maryadit, Osmanabad Janata Sahakari Bank, The Santrampur Urban Co-operative Bank, and The Nawanagar Co-operative Bank.

3. Union Minister of Steel Jyotiraditya Scindia has said that India has made remarkable progress in the steel sector in the last 8 years. He also said that the India becomes the world’s 2nd largest producer of steel.

1. Veteran Tollywood actor and producer G Shivarama Krishnamurthy, popularly known as Krishna, passed away during the early hours due to multiple organ failure at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He played lead roles in several hit films of Telugu cinema.

The legendary actor breathed his last in the hospital this early morning after he got admitted due to a massive heart attack yesterday. He was 79.

2. Eric Frohnhoefer, Twitter’s Android app developer who was publicly fired by Elon Musk after an argument, said, “Woke up to the news that more Tweeps were summarily fired last night.” He added, “At this rate, no one will be left to run Twitter.” Notably, Twitter has already fired 50% of its global workforce and 90% of its India team

1. The third edition of the ‘Pan-India’ Coastal Defence Exercise ‘Sea Vigil-22’ will be conducted from 15 to 16 November 2022.

2. Indian Air Force on Tuesday inducted a fleet of electric vehicles in keeping with the government’s initiative on introduction of green mobility. Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari flagged off the first batch of 12 electric vehicles.

3. HAL handed over the last of the 16 DHRUVs (MK-III, Maritime Role) contracted with the Indian Coast Guard at a program here today to DG Coast Guard V S Pathania in the presence of senior officials from CG, Defence and HAL.

4. The Chief of the Army Staff General Manoj Pande, who is on a four-day visit to France, visited Ecole Military School in Paris and addressed the senior staff officers’ Course of French Army on ‘India’s Security Perspective’.
