Birsa Munda

1. Children Day was celebrated across the country to increase awareness about the rights, care and education of children. It is celebrated on 14 November every year on the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru.

2. President Droupadi Murmu will pay tributes to Bhagwan Birsa Munda at Ulihatu village in Jharkhand today on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas.

3. Union Government has declared 15th November as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas to commemorate the contributions of tribal communities in the nation’s history and culture.

4. The Supreme Court said that forced religious conversion is a “very serious” issue. It also said that religious conversion may affect the security of the country along with the freedom of conscience of citizens as far as religion is concerned.

5. International Gita Mahotsav to be organized from November 19 to December 6 at Kurkushetra in Haryana. President Droupadi Murmu will attend this grand festival of Holy Gita.

6. Commission for Air Quality Management lifts curbs under stage 3 of Graded Response Action Plan in entire NCR in view of improvement in Air Quality in Delhi.

7. University Grants Commission has asked higher education institutions to initiate necessary steps to engage professionals and industry experts as Professors of Practice in their institutes.

8. ASSAM : The Soy Janagosthi Joutha Mancha (Joint Platform of Six Ethnic Tribes) has called for a 12-hour Assam Bandh on Tuesday (November 15) to press for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status. The Soy Janagosthi Joutha Mancha is a coalition of six ethnic groups: Adivasi, Chutia, Koch-Rajbongshi, Matak, Moran, and Tai-Ahom.

9. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the state is working on providing land rights to indigenous people through self-certification. He added that the self-certification will state that the claimant has been residing on the land for at least three generations without any dispute

10. DELHI : Delhi government has decided to lift the ban imposed on plying of BS III, petrol and BS IV, diesel Light Motor Vehicles in Delhi in view of the improvement in the air quality.

11. GUJARAT Filing of nominations for Assembly elections ends. In the first phase, voting will be held for 89 seats in 19 districts on 1st December.

12. KARNATAKA : Recently PM Modi unveiled a 108 feet tall bronze statue of Sri Nadaprabhu Kempegowda in Bengaluru. The ‘Statue of Prosperity’ is made to commemorate the contribution of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda who is the founder of Bengaluru. The statue weighing 218 tonnes (98 tonnes of bronze and 120 tonnes of steel) has been installed at the Kempegowda International Airport.

13. MADHYA PRADESH : The National Center for Seismology (NCS) said an earthquake of magnitude 3.2 occurred in Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli, around 2.35 pm on Monday.

14. MIZORAM : 15 people trapped in landslide and feared to be killed at a stone quarry nearby Maudarh village at Hnahthial district.

15. TELANGANA : TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao will chair a joint meeting of party MPs, MLAs and MLCs and state executive committee members at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday.

16. WEST BENGAL CM Mamata Banerjee condemned and apologised for her minister Akhil Giri comments on President Droupadi Murmu.

In a 17-second video clip, Mr Giri the minister of state for Correctional Homes, was heard commenting on the “looks of the President”. at a rally in a village in Nandigram late on Friday evening.

17. 85-Year-old Renowned mathematician and great scholar Padma Shri Awardee Shri Rangasami Lakshminarayan Kashyap or RL Kashyap passed away. RL Kashyap translated around twenty-five thousand Sanskrit mantras into English language.

1. Bengaluru City Police has busted a gang which provided Indian fake passports to five people from Sri Lanka who were looking to move to the Middle East in search of jobs.

2. The Gujarat High Court is likely to hear the suo motu PIL on the Morbi bridge tragedy today (Tuesday).

3. Delhi Police’s Cyber Crime Unit on Monday busted an online pan-India Ola electric scooty scam in which over 1,000 people have been cheated. At least 16 people have been arrested in the case from various parts of the country

4. The Supreme Court granted more time to the Central government to respond to the batch of petitions challenging certain provisions of the Places of Worship (Special Provision) Act, 1991. The pleas challenged the Places of Worship Act saying that the Act takes away the rights of Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, and Sikhs to restore their places of worship and pilgrimages.

1. Retail inflation eases to three-month low of 6.77% in October.

2. The 41st edition of India International Trade Fair (IITF) has started at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. The fair will continue till 27th of this month. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal inaugurated the fair.

3. The second quarter of 2022–23 saw the Bank of Maharashtra (BoM) outperform other public sector lenders in terms of percentage loan growth. The lender saw a 28.62 percent increase in gross advances at the end of September 2022, totaling Rs 1,48,216 crore.

4. The country’s fifth largest public sector bank, Union Bank of India, marked its 104th foundation day on 11 November 2022, after being founded on 11 November 1919. The bank launched Union Vyom app.

5. India’s industrial output, as measured by the Index of Industrial Production (IIP), grew 3.1 % in September.

6. Tiger Global Management has offloaded shares amounting to a 2.98% stake in Policybazaar’s parent firm PB Fintech for ₹522.50 crore through open market transactions. According to data from the NSE, funds managed by Tiger Global have sold a total of 1,34,17,607 shares.

7. Telangana government received approval from the Centre to raise an additional Rs 3,500 crore through bond auctions in November and December. Of this, the finance ministry has allowed the state government to raise Rs 1,000 crore on November 15.

1. Veteran Telugu actor Krishna (80 years), father of superstar Mahesh Babu, was on Monday admitted to a private super-specialty hospital for cardiac-related health issues. His condition was critical and he was being treated on ventilator.

Krishna’s first wife Indira Devi passed away in September this year, while his elder son Ramesh Babu breathed his last in January. His second wife Vijaya Nirmala passed away in June, 2019.

2. Spanish Film Director and writer Carlos Saura will be conferred the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award 2022 at the upcoming 53rd edition of the International Film Festival of India at Goa.
3. Government has decided to lift the ban on the popular VLC Media Player after being banned for almost nine months in the country.

4. Aamir Khan, who was set to star in the upcoming film ‘Champions’, revealed that he will now produce the film. He has decided to take a break from acting in order to spend more time with his family.

5. Actor Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Circus’ co-star Sunil Shende passes away at 75. He, known for movies and shows such as ‘Circus’, ‘Shanti’ and supporting characters in movies such as “Gandhi”, “Khal Nayak”, “Ghayaal”, “Ziddi”, “Daud” and “Sarfarosh”.

6. Google announces Shlok Mukherjee as the winner of the 2022 Doodle for Google competition. Sholk Mukherjee is from Kolkata and he was declared the winner for India for his inspiring Doodle titled ‘India on the Centre State’. His doddle is also featured on Google.co.in on 14th November 2022.

7. Kevin Conroy, an actor and voice actor best known for playing Batman in several animated movies and series, has passed away at the age of 66.

DEFENCE

1. International Atomic Energy Agency IAEA has said it did not see the recent misfire of a BrahMos missile as any cause of “specific concern” and that the incident did not in any way raise questions on the safety of nuclear weapons or material in India.

On March 9, a BrahMos cruise missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads was accidentally fired and landed well within Pakistani territory. It was not carrying any weapon, and therefore no explosion or damage was caused.

In August this year, following a court of inquiry, the services of three Indian Air Force officers had been terminated for their role in the accident.

2. Brazilian small arms manufacturer Taurus Armas CEO Salesio Nuhs said his firm’s plan to transfer technology that needs to Indian armed forces.

3. The Indian Navy will kickstart the third edition of Coastal Defence Exercise ‘Sea Vigil-22’ on Tuesday.The exercise will be conducted over two days.

4. Space start-up, Chennai-based Agnikul Cosmos, is targeting its first rocket launch in a sub-orbital mission by the end of this year. Indian Research Space Organisation (ISRO) on Friday said: “Agnikul received its first Flight Termination System (FTS) from ISRO on November 7 with the support of IN-SPACe (Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre)
